Position Summary The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in the organization by supporting business analysis efforts within the Capital Markets and Investor Fulfillment department. Working with limited supervision, this role is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, validating, specifying, and managing business and technical requirements for medium to complex initiatives. The Senior Business Analyst acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and the Information Systems development team, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and effectively translated into technical solutions. Compensation This role is an exempt position with a Targeted Salary Range of $94,000 - $120,000 annually. Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location. Essential Functions * Identify project stakeholders and define project scope. * Gather and validate requirements through interviews, document review, and other elicitation methods. * Develop clear and concise requirement specifications, business rules, and supporting documentation using standard templates. * Define functional and non-functional requirements, including quality attributes and constraints. * Translate high-level business needs into detailed requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. * Document system changes using concise narratives, diagrams, process flows, and other visual modeling tools. * Create current- and future-state process documentation and conduct gap analysis to support business justification and prioritization. * Develop and execute effective testing strategies to validate system changes and assess cross-functional impacts. * Lead discovery, design, and review sessions to ensure accurate interpretation of requirements. * Champion and continuously improve requirements practices, processes, and tools. * Mentor and support team members, promoting product mindset, collaboration, and process efficiency. * Perform other duties as required. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree directly related to the position or equivalent, preferred. * Minimum five years' total relevant experience in Business or Mortgage Lending and/or Consumer Lending Technology related role(s). You will work closely with Product Managers, UX teams, Engineering, and key stakeholders to translate customer needs and business requirements into scalable product solutions. You will be responsible for gathering and documenting requirements, collaborating with stakeholders, optimizing processes, and ensuring high-quality delivery of features. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills. ### Key Responsibilities: #### Product Requirement Management Collaborate with Product Managers \&/or business stakeholders to gather, define, and refine business/product requirements. Translate business objectives into clear, actionable user stories, workflows and acceptance criteria. Maintain product documentation such as process flows, release notes, and backlog items. Manage and groom the product backlog using tools like JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps. Support the creation and maintenance of project plans, test cases, and go-to-market plans. #### Stakeholder Collaboration Act as the bridge between business, product, UX, and technology teams to ensure clarity \& alignment. Facilitate workshops and interviews with internal and external stakeholders to capture pain points and opportunities. Support product discovery activities (journey mapping, persona definition, MVP scoping. Provide training and support to internal teams on the use of the new digital systems. Participate in sprint ceremonies, requirement walkthroughs, and backlog refinement sessions. #### Process Optimization Map current (‘as-is’) and future state (‘to-be’) customer journeys and operational workflows. Identify inefficiencies or manual touchpoints that can be automated or optimized, and propose improvements. Collaborate with operations and tech teams to streamline processes. #### Data-Driven Decision Support Conduct market and competitor analysis to recommend product enhancements. Track product performance metrics and prepare reports for decision-making. #### Quality \& Testing Support Support UAT planning and execution by aligning business users and ensuring traceability of requirements. Validate that product features meet the intended outcomes before go-live. #### Operational Excellence Ensure documentation, artifacts, and reporting adhere to team standards. Create / maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal process documentation. Support consistency in delivery across projects through reusable templates and checklists. Contribute to knowledge-sharing within the product team. #### Key Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 3–6 years of business analysis experience in digital platforms, preferably in insurance, fintech, or e- commerce. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional product squads. Familiarity with SDLC and product lifecycle practices. #### Core Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency with SQL, Excel, or BI tools is a plus. Familiarity with customer journey tools (e.g., Miro, Figma, MS Visio) and backlog management systems (e.g., JIRA). Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to distill complex information clearly. Exposure to APIs, product integrations, or digital onboarding flows is a plus. Understanding of health or general insurance products (quote, bind, issue, claim) is highly desirable. Experience working in regulated environments or with compliance teams is a plus. Comfortable navigating ambiguity in fast-evolving, startup-like environments. Product mindset with a focus on outcomes, not just deliverables. Exposure to quality standards, process controls, and knowledge management practices, especially from an operational excellence perspective is a plus. #### Why Join Us?
