Frontend Engineer

CandisBerlin, Berlin, Germanyhybrid

You thrive when there is a real problem in front of you, a codebase that keeps evolving and a team that expects you to dig in rather than wait to be told what to do. We are looking for a Frontend Engineer who is ready to own features end-to-end and is genuinely excited by what modern tooling and AI-augmented workflows can unlock. Our Tech Stack: Typescript, React, Vite, Cypress, GraphQL, Node. Why do we need this role? Candis is growing and so is our Frontend ambition. We are investing in more Engineering power across our product teams, and this role is part of that. More Frontend capacity means more features shipped, more domains covered and more room for our Engineers to drive the Frontend chapter forward. We are looking for someone who can come in, contribute, and grow with us. What makes this role exciting? You will join team Achilles, one of the most active product teams at Candis right now, working predominantly on brand new features. The tech stack is modern and deliberately kept that way. If you spot something ageing out, you can raise it, propose the upgrade and lead it yourself with no one blocking you because of a preference for stability over progress. Candis genuinely believes in engineer agency: if you see a repeated problem across the codebase, bring it to the Frontend Chapter and propose a fix, with no one telling you, no. Growth also makes this role exciting. We are not a company where career progression happens by waiting in a queue. Your team lead will run structured, regular one-on-ones focused on your competency growth and what it takes to reach the next level. What are the biggest challenges? Things can change at Candis, and they can change fast. The way a component looks or works can be revised multiple times in a single quarter as product and design sharpen the vision, so you need to be the kind of person who finds that energising rather than exhausting. There is also a level of cross-team coordination that takes active effort: multiple squads often work on closely related domains simultaneously, and the responsibility for syncing sits partly with you. Spotting that another team is touching shared ground and proactively reaching out to align is expected, not exceptional. On the technical side, some legacy test infrastructure has accumulated tech debt and will need to be reworked as part of ongoing modernisation, meaning you will occasionally need to navigate imperfect foundations on your way to shipping clean work. What would be achieved over 6 months? haben? In the first 30 days: Complete company onboarding, merge your first pull requests, and start building familiarity with the Achilles codebase and domain. By 60 days: Attend Frontend Chapter meetings regularly, have shipped at least one meaningful feature, and be able to work across two full delivery cycles. By 90 days: Operate with little to no supervision on most tasks, use AI tooling to offload repetitive work such as routine bug fixes, and be a recognisable cross-team collaborator. By month six: Have been the driving force behind at least one shipped feature, contribute actively to Frontend Chapter discussions and be on a clear trajectory toward a senior competency level. What equips you best for the role? Based in Berlin: We work on a hybrid or onsite working model. React and TypeScript as your daily stack, not just on your CV. You have shipped production features, you know your way around hooks and component patterns and you write code others can read and extend. Solid, practical experience with complex form workflows using libraries such as react-hook-form. Forms are central to the Candis product and you will be working with them from day one. Modern CSS fluency. You reach for Grid, Flexbox, container queries and custom properties naturally. You stay current with modern CSS features like :has(), nesting and anchor positioning. An active AI-augmented workflow. You use Cursor, Copilot, or similar tools as a genuine productivity multiplier, not as a fallback when you are stuck. At least three years of solid, verifiable Frontend experience. Strong, articulate communication. You explain your thinking clearly in code reviews, standups and cross-team threads. Vagueness is not your default. Bonus points if you have the following Exposure to GraphQL. Experience in a fintech, SaaS, or B2B product environment. Familiarity with testing infrastructure and a view on what good tests look like. German language skills. A track record of contributing to frontend guild or chapter-level discussions. Don’t worry about formalities. We care about you and your motivation – not the font size of your CV. We know that perfect candidates don’t exist, so even if not all of this applies to you, we’d love to learn more about you! Feel free to contact us via e-mail, give us a call, drop by the office, or send a pigeon our way. We’re looking forward to hearing from you! :) About Candis: We are a fintech scale-up working in an area ripe for disruption: accounting and bookkeeping. Candis helps companies regain control over their accounts payable process (think: collecting invoices, data entry, pre-account assignment, and payments). By providing a well-designed and intuitive app, we strive to make working lives better–not just for accountants, but for every employee. We empower finance teams with software to generate financial insights that support decision-making and help businesses scale… all while making a meaningful sustainable impact by reducing paper waste.

We’re aiming high! Our vision: By 2030, over 100,000 teams around the world will use awork. ✨ And our engineering team plays a key role in bringing that vision to life. Our product is at the heart of what we do – and you’ll help shape it. As a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) on our Work Management feature team, you’ll build delightful features, evolve our technical architecture, and ensure our web app performs beautifully. Your work will reduce friction in daily planning for thousands of teams. Our current planning tool is powerful but complex. Your mission: make it feel effortless without losing capability. You’ll introduce new workflows for our users, helping them reduce the busywork and making their work more fun. You’ll work closely with your teammates (including Annalisa and Marcello), collaborate cross-functionally with product design and backend, and report directly to Marci, our Frontend Team Lead. Here are some projects you might help ship in your first month: Simplify the planning workflow, making it more intuitive while keeping power-user depth. Rework and improve the performance and capabilities of our powerful task lists. Ship AI-assisted automations and workflows for tasks and projects. Let’s build something amazing – together. 💜 🌟 Why working on our Frontend team is awesome: Product-first, UX-obsessed engineering. Frontend work at awork is about building a top-tier product: high emphasis on user experience, performance, and clean, high-quality code—so what you ship really matters. High ownership with a modern stack. You can shape features end-to-end, prototype ideas quickly, and ship without bureaucracy, all on a modern frontend stack with minimal legacy/tech debt and real time reserved for refactoring and architecture. Big challenges, big impact. You’ll modernize and evolve a large Angular app while tackling complex, high-reliability features (docs editor, big-data views, AI tools), and you’ll see your work improve how thousands of teams operate every day. 👆Here's the job: Develop new features for our Angular-based web app (v20) – from idea to release Collaborate closely with product, design and backend teams during planning and implementation Write clean, scalable code with a strong focus on performance and user experience Make use of the latest AI tools to deliver impactful customer value faster Review and merge pull requests, share feedback and mentor other engineers Troubleshoot and resolve bugs using modern monitoring tools 🧰 Technologies Angular 20 Angular Signals Typescript RxJS REST API GitHub \& Copilot Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, etc. 🌟 Our wish list: You bring strong frontend experience (5+ years) building complex web apps. Angular experience is a plus, but we value engineers who learn fast and bring product thinking from any modern framework. You are experienced building delightful user-facing features. You have a good understanding of modern frontend architecture, including state management, API integration, testing, and performance optimization. You have good experience with modern AI-assisted software development. You are comfortable working cross-functionally and contributing to product and technical discussions. You have strong English communication skills (C1 level written and spoken). 🚀 What makes you successful in this role: You take ownership of your projects and drive them to completion. Think small PRs, frequent shipping, continuous iteration. This is what delivers customer value. You challenge product decisions with technical insight and always aim for the best solution. Engineers co-own discovery: you’ll join problem framing, not just solution building. You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across teams, which is particularly important in our hybrid setup. You have a strong eye for design consistency and a deep sense of user empathy. You spot friction in workflows, spot typos and weird default texts and identify places where we can delight our users. You care about maintainability, accessibility, and performance. Your code reviews focus on DX and UX, not just correctness. You propose experiments and improvement ideas based on data and customer feedback beyond your direct ownership scope to improve the entire product, team and company. 🫶 Why awork? We make teams happy : We have incredibly happy customers, which makes creating content for awork even more rewarding. Dream team : Our engineering team has a lot of fun evolving our product together and meeting the needs of our customers. Together with your team, you will have a big impact on awork's growth. About Wolt At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe. Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life. Wolt is looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our Web Tooling team. The team sits within the DoorDash Developer Platform group and is responsible for the foundation that hundreds of engineers across Wolt, DoorDash and Deliveroo rely on to build internal operations tools. Our platform hosts 200+ micro-frontends (MFEs) used to operate every part of the business. About The Team Our team is focused on building a scalable, reliable, and high-quality internal tooling platform that supports Wolt, DoorDash, and Deliveroo’s operations and business. The team plays an important role in improving how engineers build, test, and ship software across the organization with a strong emphasis on reusable libraries, micro-frontend architecture and harness engineering for AI coding agents that enable teams to move faster while maintaining high quality. Right now, we are focused on unifying our frontend platforms, evolving shared components and library development, improving developer productivity, and enabling teams to deliver more independently through better architecture and tooling. It’s an exciting time to join because the team has strong ownership and a broad technical impact. About The Role We’re looking for a Frontend Engineer who can take ownership of complex technical initiatives across both frontend and sometimes backend domains. In this role, you’ll work primarily with TypeScript, React, Node.js, CI/CD pipelines, and MFE architecture to build scalable, maintainable solutions that support multiple product teams and business areas. Success in this role means becoming a trusted technical owner who consistently delivers reliable solutions, and helps the team execute more effectively. Six months into the role, we’d expect you to be independently leading technical initiatives and contributing meaningfully to architecture and delivery planning. This role offers the opportunity to solve challenging engineering problems with visible impact across the business. It’s especially exciting for someone who enjoys combining product engineering with platform thinking, improving developer workflows, and building systems that scale across teams and domains. What you’ll be doing Owning the Foundation: the runtime, build, deployment and developer experience that 200+ MFEs and hundreds of engineers depend on every day. Evolving Our Micro-Frontend Architecture: improve composition, isolation, and shared dependency strategies so feature teams can move fast. Product and Planning: Independently drive projects from idea to production: breaking down ambiguous problems into clear technical plans, estimating delivery, identifying risks early, and delivering high-quality solutions in a timely manner. Supporting Engineering Excellence: champion best practices, raise the bar for code quality, and turn lessons learned into platform improvements. AI Fluency: Use AI coding tools to increase engineering productivity and quality, while applying strong judgment and review. Long-Term Thinking: balance short-term feature unblockers with the long-term health, security, and maintainability of the platform. 📍This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in Helsinki or Berlin . Read more about our hybrid setup here. Feel free to check out the Wolt Tech Blog for more insight into our culture and technology. Our humble expectations Must haves Proven expertise in building production frontend applications using TypeScript and React. Solid backend knowledge, comfortable owning and operating Node.js services that support frontend infrastructure. Strong knowledge of frontend build tools, bundlers, and module systems, and the ability to evolve them as the platform grows. Track record of diagnosing and resolving complex performance, reliability, or DX issues in large frontend codebases. Experience driving technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams and stakeholders. Strong communication skills and a collaborative, platform-mindset approach to working with feature teams. Strong documentation skills, including experience writing RFCs or ADRs. Nice to haves Experience with micro-frontends architecture. Frontend platform engineering experience. Experience building shared component libraries used by many product teams. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and cloud infrastructure for frontend workloads. Experience or interest in observability and reliability (SRE). What’s In It For You Impact: Build and shape the platform that thousands of people depend on. YOUR ROLE We are building a cloud-native insurance platform designed for a future where humans and AI collaborate to create, configure, and operate insurance products. Insurance systems are traditionally complex, rigid, and difficult to change. Our mission is to make them structured, versioned, and programmable so that product teams, engineers, and eventually AI systems can work with them safely and efficiently. As a Senior / Leading Frontend Software Engineer (f/m/d/x) AI-Enabled Insurance Platform, you will help design and build the core user experience and tooling that bring this vision to life. You will work on highly interactive UIs, scalable frontend architecture, and design systems that enable users and AI systems to create and configure insurance products faster while maintaining usability, performance, and accessibility. This role sits at the intersection of complex UX/Product design, domain modeling, and AI-enabled user experiences. WHAT YOU WILL BE CHALLENGED WITH Design and implement complex administrative interfaces for configuring and operating insurance products. Build schema-driven and highly interactive UIs that allow experts to define product structures, pricing rules, and workflows. Own and evolve our frontend architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance across a growing platform. Collaborate closely with backend teams building microservice-based APIs (gRPC / REST) powering product configuration and policy operations. Contribute to the design of AI-assisted workflows, where domain experts interact with AI tools to configure and operate insurance products faster. Establish and maintain frontend engineering standards, including performance optimization, accessibility (A11y), and robust state management. Work with Product and UX to transform complex insurance concepts into clear, efficient user experiences. Strong experience designing maintainable frontend architectures, including state management, modular component design, and scalable codebases. Experience integrating with API-driven microservice architectures. Experience building highly interactive UIs, such as complex forms, configuration systems, or data-heavy applications. A strong systems-thinking mindset, with the ability to reason about long-term technical and UX trade-offs. The ability to take ownership of significant parts of the frontend platform and drive improvements across the codebase. Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, with attention to performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility. Clear English communication skills and an interest in mentoring other engineers. WHAT WE OFFER An attractive salary package based on your experience, qualifications and responsibilities A remote-friendly working model with occasional trips to our Berlin office 30 days of holiday leave, plus extra half-days off on 24 and 31 December A personal training budget of at least €500, or more if necessary, which we will invest together in your further development Exciting opportunities for internal development through a fixed role development model, fixed feedback cycles and performance reviews. A company subsidy for Urban Sports Club membership to support your well-being outside of work A generously subsidised company pension scheme, which we use to work together to make optimal provisions for your future A VSOP programme that lets you benefit from the company's success additionally We provide you with modern hardware; you decide whether you want Windows or iOS With weekly company lunches and a well-stocked snack bar, everything you need for a quick bite to eat is right there * As part of a dynamic and motivated team of experts, you benefit directly from the knowledge of your colleagues, because team spirit and mutual support are an essential part of our culture

Product Engineer (Frontend/Web)

FlipStuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germanyremote

Empower every employee. Our mission is to be the world's most used AI employee experience platform by changing the way frontline employees work. Flip is the leading AI-powered employee experience platform for frontline workers. We're transforming how the people who keep the world running — in retail, manufacturing, and logistics — do their jobs. One app. One touch. Everything they need. Our mission: Connect every employee to everything they need in one touch. Job Description We welcome applicants with a range of experience levels, from those a few years into their career to seasoned engineers. If you are just starting your career but already have experience working alongside your studies, we are also happy to talk to you. We’re looking for a Product Engineer with a strong frontend specialization, a solid technical foundation, and experience working on SaaS products in Agile environments. You’ll help us build high-quality user experiences, with deep ownership of the user interface, interaction patterns, performance, accessibility, and the overall quality of our apps. While your core focus will be frontend, we value an end-to-end product mindset and openness to extending your impact into backend or mobile systems where needed, bridging the gap with the support of AI. What you can expect Cross-functional Collaboration: You will join a product squad and work closely with designers, product managers, and experienced engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, and AI. Shift in Software Engineering: Driven by AI, the role is moving toward end-to-end ownership—focusing on understanding user problems, shaping product decisions, rapid prototyping, and validating ideas, rather than just coding from strict specs. A Shared Transition: The company is undergoing this transformation itself; you aren't expected to have everything figured out from day one. Key Traits Valued: What matters most is your curiosity, adaptability, strong engineering judgment, and a genuine willingness to learn new ways of working. Growth and Support: You will receive the tools, practices, and team environment needed to evolve into a product-minded, AI-enabled engineer while continuing to deepen your technical expertise. What you bring to the table If you're excited about the role but don't tick every box, we still want to hear from you. Your attitude and willingness to learn matter more to us than matching every bullet. Frontend Proficiency: Hands-on experience with TypeScript and frameworks/libraries like Angular, React, Vue; a strong foundation in HTML and CSS, and a keen eye for UX. Cross-stack Mindset: Frontend is your primary discipline, but you're open to stepping into backend or mobile development when a feature calls for it. Comfortable with AI Coding Tools: You use AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, etc.) as part of your workflow, or are eager to adopt them. Ownership: You think in terms of user impact, not tickets. You ask "what would actually help the user or what would bring me closer to understanding that?" and see it through: a prototype, instrumentation on existing features, a conversation with a PM or Customer Success - whatever the question calls for. You carry features through to rollout and observe their impact. Agile Experience: Experience working on SaaS products in agile environments. Nice-to-Haves: Experience with design systems and Web Components. (We are using Stencil to build our component library.) Prior knowledge about analytics and event tracking. (We are using Mixpanel.) Experience with E2E testing. (We are using Playwright.) What we offer you Work mode: We’re remote-first, giving you flexibility to work from home. At the same time, we deeply value the power of in-person collaboration. Depending on the role, you’ll join occasional team events, workshops, or meetings in our Berlin or Stuttgart offices - always with plenty of notice. The exact balance will be discussed during your interview. Work-Life-Balance: We don't want you to grow roots to your desk chair. That's why we cover the costs of your E-Gym-Wellpass membership and offer job bike leasing. Celebrating success: Expect highly motivated and committed people in a relaxed working atmosphere. Be part of something bigger : You actively shape Flip in your role. Along the way, you are an enabler of the rapid growth process of a young tech company and grow towards your goals, fun is guaranteed. Happy to be a Flipster: Stay tuned for regular team events and culture days that bring us together as Flipsters. * Working abroad: At Flip you can also work abroad in the European Union. Let's talk about remote work in the interview. At Flip, everyone is welcome - no matter what gender you identify as or how old you are. Sexual identity, origin, religion, world view and disabilities do not influence your potential job at Flip. The most important thing is that YOU fit in!

About Wolt At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we're building the delivery of (almost) everything and you'll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe. Working at Wolt isn't always easy, but it's definitely exciting. Here you'll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You'll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you're a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life. About the team Our team is focused on building a scalable, reliable, and high-quality internal tooling platform that supports Wolt, DoorDash, and Deliveroo's operations and business. It's an exciting time to join because the team has strong ownership and a broad technical impact. About the role We're looking for a Frontend Engineer who can take ownership of complex technical initiatives across both frontend and sometimes backend domains. In this role, you'll work primarily with TypeScript, React, Node.js, CI/CD pipelines, and MFE architecture to build scalable, maintainable solutions that support multiple product teams and business areas. Success in this role means becoming a trusted technical owner who consistently delivers reliable solutions, and helps the team execute more effectively. Six months into the role, we'd expect you to be independently leading technical initiatives and contributing meaningfully to architecture and delivery planning. This role offers the opportunity to solve challenging engineering problems with visible impact across the business. It's especially exciting for someone who enjoys combining product engineering with platform thinking, improving developer workflows, and building systems that scale across teams and domains. AI Fluency: Use AI coding tools to increase engineering productivity and quality, while applying strong judgment and review. Long-Term Thinking : balance short-term feature unblockers with the long-term health, security, and maintainability of the platform. 📍This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in Helsinki or Berlin . Read more about our hybrid setup here . What's in it for you Impact: Build and shape the platform that thousands of people depend on. Scale: Work on real platform problems behind 200+ MFEs with hundreds of monthly contributors. Collaboration: Partner with talented engineers, designers, and operators across companies to make their daily work faster and better. Growth: Take on deep technical challenges across frontend architecture, AI harness engineering, DX, performance, and improving engineering efficiency.
