We are currently looking for talented and motivated Project Mechanical Engineers to join our teams in Maidenhead and London. This role can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option of adjusted start and finish times. What does the role involve? You will be part of a team working on a wide variety of small and large schemes including healthcare, education, leisure, retail, commercial and energy conservation. Duties are varied but include the following: Attending design and site meetings. Managing workload. Performing job manager responsibilities. Producing accurate document including specifications, calculations, condition reports, etc. To be successful in this role you’ll possess: A degree in Building Services Engineering. A professional qualification with CIBSE or MIET (or be working towards). A good working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks and Clash Detection. Demonstrable experience in a similar role. The ability to manage a variety of projects meeting varying deadlines. Strong problem solving skills to work alongside architects and contractors to solve problems and come up with innovative solutions. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Job Responsibilities: Oversee and develop construction documents and specifications for a full range of private site development and municipal civil engineering projects. Prepare site plan and subdivision review correspondence on behalf of Municipal Land Use Boards. Coordinate and perform site investigations to assess and document field conditions. Prepare State and County applications for site development approvals, soil erosion and flood hazard area. Respond to and address regulatory comments to obtain agency approvals. Develop site designs, including site layout, grading and storm drainage, roadway, and utility infrastructure. Prepare engineer's opinion of probable costs for designed projects and specifications for public bids. Interact with clients including management of project work and financial performance. Assist in the management and development of technical staff. Coordinate with the other engineering and architectural departments within the firm. The ideal candidate will possess the following: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. New Jersey PE license required. Strong computer skills with experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. 7 to 10 years design experience with a specific focus on site development projects as well as environmental permitting experience. Prepare capital improvement/construction documents in accordance with local public contracts law. Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices of related technical areas including but not limited to storm-water management and detention basin design. Self-motivated, capable of working independently or within project teams. Team-spirited, focused and able to make independent decisions Effective oral and written communication skills. The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $140,000 annually. The employment offer may deviate from this published range based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography and/or related certifications – not related to any applicant’s characteristics protected by local, state or federal law. Project Manager for EPC Projects of Engineering – Thayer Power \& Communication is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) distribution line projects for investor-owned utilities (IOUs). This role requires full accountability for project scope, schedule, cost, and quality, while ensuring seamless coordination between engineering, procurement, construction teams, and subcontractors. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to deliver multi-million-dollar projects on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and client satisfaction. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Oversee planning and execution of large-scale distribution line EPC projects from initiation to closeout. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; implement proactive risk management strategies. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including resource allocation and critical path analysis, to ensure deadlines are met. Manage project budgets, forecasts, and profitability, keeping financial performance on track. Track and reconcile project time charges and subcontractor costs; ensure accurate invoicing and billing compliance. Lead stakeholder engagement, resolve escalated issues, and maintain strong client relationships. Ensure quality assurance and compliance with all contractual, regulatory, and safety requirements. Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction teams to meet project milestones and client expectations. Plan, order, and track long-lead materials to prevent construction delays and maintain schedule integrity. Monitor subcontractor performance and enforce contractual obligations. Provide executive-level reporting, performance analysis, and risk management updates. Mentor junior project managers and support team development initiatives. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; PMP certification preferred.
