Project Mechanical Engineer V

ABOUT THE ROLE You will be a member of our multi-disciplinary team and will perform as a high-level specialist in a lead role for the mechanical engineering team. Projects may include new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial and science and technology. HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO Perform and direct complex design of ductwork, piping and equipment selection for HVAC systems for large scale size buildings. Able to work independently in all Mechanical disciplines with no oversight or guidance. As necessary assist with Plumbing and Fire Protection Designs. Interface effectively with clients and members of the design team. Serve in the QAQC process and an independent reviewer. Oversee, guide, mentor and provide technical leadership to designers and engineering team. Direct the work of less experienced staff including the development and presentation of annual performance reviews. Oversee the use of engineering complexities related to the use Energy Model software. Prepare Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings of HVAC systems from schematic design to construction administration phases including layout, sketches and detail drawings as required. As necessary perform Revit/BIM modeling for plumbing and fire protection systems. Review and accept selective shop drawings for compliance of specifications and contract documents. Interface effectively with clients and members of the project team and attend Owner, Architect, Construction Administration (OAC) meetings with an understanding and focus on the project budget. Participate or lead value engineering sessions with Architectural/Engineering team. Recommend improvements with reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and to streamline production efforts. Conduct staff development activities including work planning, budget development, scheduling in conjunction with the Project Manager. Respond to RFI's and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents. Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress. Attend and participate in construction meetings. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site. Represents company in project activities; directs activities of project team members; represents company in business development and marketing activities. May serve on internal and/or professional committees. Perform other duties as assigned. HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED Minimum of 10 years of related experience required. Current PE in the United States required. LEED accreditation preferred. Strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes Advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering. Ability to serve in QAQC process and as an independent reviewer. Must be a critical thinker. Must be highly analytical. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong ability to interface effectively with clients and members of the design team. Able to effectively handle multiple projects. Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work. Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit, Trane Trace or Trane 3D Plus) required. The salary range for this position is $129,438 to $161,772 annually. This salary range is the range we believe is the anticipated range of possible base compensation at the timing of the posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for the position. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. Project Architect V - Healthcare

ABOUT THE ROLE The successful candidate will be a high level specialist and will perform in a Project Architect role, responsible for leading the development of technical aspects and content of projects, coordinating work with all disciplines to ensure an integrated set of deliverables, and verifying compliance through team collaboration. HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO • Manage critical path process to lead project team through all technical and production aspects from initial stages of pre-design through project completion. • Lead the regular and ongoing engagement with the Office or Project Quality Leader for general and targeted project support. • Lead the integration and development of all technical aspects and content of the work and translate them into our instruments of service. • Work with the Project Manager to establish and maintain realistic work and labor plans and deliverable schedules that contribute to the bottom-line financial success and satisfy contractual obligations. • Engage in and contributes to the Project Risk Assessment process including updates. Proactively identifies, communicates, mitigates, and resolves project-related issues. • Guide and assist Project Architects in the development of Project Quality Plans and updates to effectively manage project Quality including phase milestone reviews and project pinups/technical charettes. • Review the development of and lead the execution of the documentation strategy for each phase drawing document deliverable through the Cartooning process. • Work in collaboration with Project Design Lead to manage/align design aspirations with client goals, project budget, schedule and team. • Lead the translation of the project design intent through the technical documentation and construction phases to project completion. • Lead the integration of the project’s building performance and sustainable design goals into a holistic design solution. • Continuously monitor project documentation and compliance with contractual obligations. • Guide and assist Project Architects in the Life Safety, Building and Energy Code analysis and compliance process for the project. • Lead coordination of all disciplines with the architectural design intent. • Collaborate with the Model Manager to monitor quality of the model processes, content, and deliverables. • Lead the alignment of the contract documentation by working closely with the Project Specification Writer, verifying Project Manual content and its coordination with the drawings. • Lead all aspects of the Construction Administration phase responsibilities including the timely response to RFIs and submittals. • Monitor, train and direct the work of all project team members, focusing on technical quality and process standards. • Meets established utilization target. • May assist Office Quality Leader with other project Quality reviews. • Supports office Quality efforts outside of direct project commitments. • Perform other duties as assigned. HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED • Minimum Bachelor degree in a relevant field required. • Minimum 10 years of related professional experience required. Experience must include 5 years in increasingly responsible roles in construction documentation on institutional and/or commercial projects and at least 3 years in a responsible role in construction administration on large institutional or commercial projects. • Previous experience on large, complex projects. • Previous experience on Healthcare projects is required. • Current Architectural Registration in Canada required. • CDT and LEED accreditation preferred. • Demonstrated focus on quality. • Knowledge of building codes and requirements. • Must possess business acumen. • Must have strong client leadership skills. • Must have strong technical leadership skills for production team. • Must be capable of leading and mentoring less experienced staff. • Must have advanced knowledge in discipline • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software. • Travel required.
