Project Manager for EPC Projects of Engineering – Thayer Power \& Communication is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) distribution line projects for investor-owned utilities (IOUs). This role requires full accountability for project scope, schedule, cost, and quality, while ensuring seamless coordination between engineering, procurement, construction teams, and subcontractors. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to deliver multi-million-dollar projects on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and client satisfaction. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Oversee planning and execution of large-scale distribution line EPC projects from initiation to closeout. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; implement proactive risk management strategies. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including resource allocation and critical path analysis, to ensure deadlines are met. Manage project budgets, forecasts, and profitability, keeping financial performance on track. Track and reconcile project time charges and subcontractor costs; ensure accurate invoicing and billing compliance. Lead stakeholder engagement, resolve escalated issues, and maintain strong client relationships. Ensure quality assurance and compliance with all contractual, regulatory, and safety requirements. Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction teams to meet project milestones and client expectations. Plan, order, and track long-lead materials to prevent construction delays and maintain schedule integrity. Monitor subcontractor performance and enforce contractual obligations. Provide executive-level reporting, performance analysis, and risk management updates. Mentor junior project managers and support team development initiatives. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; PMP certification preferred. Experience: 8–10 years of project management experience in electric utility EPC projects. Proven track record managing multi-million-dollar projects with multiple stakeholders. Knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution systems involving engineering, design, materials, construction, and sequencing. Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills. Advanced proficiency in project management tools and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project), and financial tracking systems.
