Technical Business Analyst

About The Role FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Technical Business Analyst (Dynamic 365) to join an ongoing Customer Service Platform transformation programme. This is initially a contract role with strong potential for extension. The role will be hybrid and based in York. This opportunity sits within a large-scale transformation programme integrating Contact Centre (CCaaS), Workflow CRM (case management), and data into a single platform. The role will focus on accelerating design and delivery readiness, ensuring seamless end-to-end customer and colleague journeys across channels and case management. Responsibilities: * Facilitate business and design workshops across Contact Centre and Workflow workstreams * Translate business requirements into high-quality user stories, epics, and backlog items * Develop end-to-end customer and colleague journeys across voice, digital channels, and case handling * Act as a bridge between Product Owners, Business Analysts, and technical teams * Contribute to functional design, proof of concepts (POCs), and solution validation About You * Strong experience with Dynamics 365 Customer Service and/or Contact Centre transformation (CCaaS) * Proven expertise in contact centre design (IVR, routing, omnichannel) and case management / CRM workflows * Experience facilitating workshops and translating outputs into structured requirements and user stories * Ability to work across business, BA, and technical teams in complex environments * Comfortable operating in fast-paced Agile delivery environments * Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Functional Consulting / CRM / Contact Centre transformation roles About Us FDM is an award-winning global leader in tech and business talent solutions, backed by more than 35 years of industry experience. About The Role FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Analyst to work for our client within the Insurance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London. Our client is seeking a hands-on, delivery-focused Business Analyst to join a Change and Transformation function. The role will initially focus on improving and stabilising existing systems and processes within a largely manual and fragmented environment. The successful candidate will bring structure, clarity, and practical improvements, before transitioning into more formal project-based Business Analysis delivery work. Responsibilities: * Review and assess existing systems and processes across the business * Document current processes and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks * Conduct gap analysis and recommend practical improvements * Re-engineer manual and inefficient processes to improve operational efficiency * Engage stakeholders to gather requirements and produce clear, structured documentation * Define and support embedding of best practice ways of working * Support transition into structured BA delivery within change initiatives * Contribute to agile or product-led delivery environments where applicable * Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, including automation and use of AI tools About You * 5–8 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst in a delivery-focused role * Strong experience working in ambiguous or unstructured environments * Proven track record in: + Process mapping and documentation + Gap analysis + Operational/process improvement * Experience working in agile or product-led environments * Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work independently * Comfortable working with manual, legacy, or fragmented systems * Demonstrates a strong delivery mindset (“gets things done”) with a focus on outcomes * Experience in insurance or financial services (beneficial, not essential) * Familiarity with tools such as Visio, Confluence, JIRA, or similar BA toolsets (assumed standard – amend if needed) About Us FDM is an award-winning global leader in tech and business talent solutions, backed by more than 35 years of industry experience.
