Position Summary: Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer. - Boca Raton, FL. The Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the Head Athletic Trainer in coordinating and administering an athletic training program that ensures quality medical care for all student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics. Summary of responsibilities: Assist the Head Trainer with coordination and administration of the athletic training program that provides for competent and complete medical care for all student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics under the direction of the team physician and the athletic director. Responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for student-athletes. Administer first aid to injured athletes and apply protective devices, such as taping, bandaging, or bracing, as needed. CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) or equivalent certification required. Current standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) certifications.
