THE ROLE Assists the KBR Environmental and Sustainability Manager in overseeing daily operations related to effective implementation of environmental management system requirements throughout the program of operations. This role necessitates proactive monitoring and effective implementation of sustainability requirements across the program of operations. The Sustainability Engineer collaborates with various stakeholders such as the Project Managers, Consultants, Contractors and relevant authorities. The role requires proficiency in Estidama certification process (PBRS, PCRS, PRRS and PVRS). MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES • Monitor and manage Estidama processes, ensuring that Consultants and Contractors meet the contractual obligations and standards. • Monitor any risks identified by the Consultant in the Estidama Pearl Rating Process and ensure timely communication to the Client and responsible stakeholders. • Verify and check sustainability reports and submissions. • Attends Estidama meetings during construction/commissioning. • Provide guidance and support to the project team on all sustainability requirements, addressing sustainability concerns and assisting in the resolution of related issues. • Keeps track and records of Projects’ sustainability key performance indicators as required by the client. • Assist the project team in obtaining and securing the final Estidama certification upon project completion. EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE • Bachelor’s degree Engineering, Architecture or related field. • Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of Environmental and Sustainability disciplines, including at least 5 years of experience in the Etsidama certification process in civil construction projects. • Minimum 5 years of Middle East work experience, Abu Dhabi experience preferred. • Valid Estidama Pearl Qualified Professional (PQP) Certification • Experience with other green buildings (LEED/ BREEAM) and sustainability certifications is an advantage • Preferred is experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) or related consultancy. • Excellent report writing skills and experienced user of MS Office and Primavera • Fluency in English language both written and spoken, Arabic speaking advantageous. COMPETENCIES • Ability to communicate effectively with various project teams and disciplines, consultants and contractors and authorities. • Proven experience in Estidama submission and process. • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with tight deadlines. • Experienced in conduction site inspections. • Team player • Strong customer focus • Accepts responsibility
