Job Summary and Responsibilities Certified Medical Assistants are essential to delivering whole person care to our patients. We offer a Medical Assistant Clinical Ladder to support growth and development within our connected system! Our MAs, in partnership with clinic staff and operations, created a structured approach to a more effective, efficient work day with appropriate workloads and a clearer path for professional development. In addition, we've also established one of the first-ever MA Apprenticeship programs with an accredited local college to educate and prepare future MAs for success. This position assumes a supportive role and has responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. You will promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the delegation of medical services as defined by State Medical Practice Act. You may perform a variety of clinical tasks as directed by an authorized health care provider in accordance with our Physician Group Scope of Practice. You may also assist with front office duties and scheduling of tests and/or patient appointments. MAs are responsible for accurate chart documentation and medical record maintenance. You will also attend / conduct in-service presentations and seminars to facilitate personal and professional growth and demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values. In Colorado Only: Pay Ranges Begin at $20.00 for Non-Certified Medical Assistants and $21.25 for Certified Medical Assistants. Summary: Provides care of urologic patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse or provider and assists with minor procedures. Responsibilities: Obtains patient history and vital signs. Explains procedures, documents care, and communicates findings with RN and Physician. Assists with urologic radiographic and ultrasound examinations and cystoscopies. Performs UDS studies with Provider is present. Assists with minor surgical procedures. Performs urinary catheter insertions and removals. Performs laboratory duties. Assists with simple dressing changes. Communicates prescription refill requests to Physician and calls in refills to pharmacy. Performs delegated clinical tasks with a written provider order. Collects or prepares specimens. Administers medications and injections per practice-specific guidelines. Sends specimens to testing laboratory. Communicates abnormal results to providers. Cleans and restocks rooms, supplies and equipment. Transports patients. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action. Requirements: Credentials: Essential: + Basic Life Support Other information: Minimum Required Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant program through an accredited school or documentation of a medical program that meets the criteria of a medical assistant program such as military prepared corpsman or medic. Trained in urological procedures through vocational or post-hire on-the-job physician training. Required Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Relevant certification as determined at position level. Minimum Experience: 1 year of healthcare related experience. BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
