What You Can Expect: Rural Support, McCall, ID area Athletic Trainer Outreach manages the care of athletes in community outreach settings. Oversees the training room, supervising assistant trainers, and planning and scheduling medical coverage at sporting events. Evaluates and manages head injuries and concussions and develops appropriate return to play guidelines in collaboration with system entities. Maintain daily records of treatment logs, injury reports, and doctor's referrals using the St Luke's Athletic Training Program (ATP) electronic medical record. Maintain medical inventory used for the care of athletes. Ensures an Emergency Action Plan be put in place and discussed with the school's Athletic Director, coaches, and athletes. Travels to local community, sports, school, etc. events. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor degree Licenses/Certifications: Licensed as a Certified Athletic Trainer the state of practice. Board of Certification (BOC) certified. Current CPR/first responder certification and/or CPR for the healthcare provider. Valid Drivers License and Insurance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Assures continued competency of professional performance, knowledge and skill evidenced by professional development and maintaining current knowledge related to all aspects of practice. + Expertly conducts an initial assessment of an athlete's training, capabilities, injury or illness in order to provide emergency or continued care, and to determine whether the athlete requires physician intervention for definitive diagnosis and treatment. + Establishes a plan of care for athletes and manages the needs of the athlete based on the examination, diagnosis, prognosis, goals and outcomes of the planned interventions for identified impairments through the exercise of discretion and professional judgment. + Supervises, plans for and coordinates athletic training services for tournaments, camps, championships, play-offs and other special events. + Manages the needs of the athlete and provides athletic training intervention by reviewing, revising, and implementing techniques or discharging athletic training services as deemed appropriate. + Responsible for inventory, supplies, equipment and other athletic training services. + Develops and presents community education on sports medicine related topics. + Supervises the student athletic trainers. + Performs other duties as assigned.
