Mozilla Foundation is a non-profit building a better technology future — powered by people, open by design, fueled by imagination. We deliver people-first alternatives to today’s extractive systems. We build side by side with developers, innovators and advocates, united in the belief that a better technology future is not only possible — it’s ours to create. Team The Technology Platforms team supports the systems that help Mozilla Foundation staff collaborate, build relationships, and deliver on our mission. These systems, including Salesforce and several connected tools, form the operational backbone of our work. They help staff track impact, understand our community, and run programs with clarity and care. The Business Systems Analyst plays a key role in improving and stewarding these systems. You will take a product-minded approach across multiple platforms: discovering user needs, validating ideas, and implementing improvements that make our tools more usable, connected, and sustainable. Though Salesforce and integrated systems remain a core part of this role, your scope extends to the broader suite of platforms our teams rely on. You will partner with colleagues across the Foundation to understand workflows, identify opportunities, and deliver thoughtful, measurable enhancements. This is a collaborative, hands-on role for someone who enjoys understanding how things work, solving problems with intention, and supporting teams with systems that feel reliable and intuitive. Job responsibilities Here are some projects you'll likely work on in your first 6 months: Platform operations and access management Platform enablement and support across program teams Platform communications and release updates Salesforce release review and feature adoption Configuration of Salesforce and integrated systems As a Business Systems Analyst, you will work on … Delivery \& Continuous Improvement (50%) Configure, enhance, and maintain systems across the Technology Platforms ecosystem (including Salesforce and integrated tools) to solve validated user problems and achieve organizational outcomes. Contribute to the Salesforce and Client Relationship Management (CRM) ecosystem as a product, ensuring it delivers measurable value to staff and the organization’s mission. Manage user accounts, roles, permissions, and security settings while balancing security, compliance, and data protection. Monitor and improve data quality, governance, and system integrity, including migrations and cleanups. Support and maintain integrations between platforms, including troubleshooting data sync issues, configuring middleware/APIs, monitoring job success/failures, and identifying opportunities to extend integrations to maximize end-to-end value. Evaluate and implement new features or system improvements for organizational impact; recommend solutions backed by data and grounded in user feedback. Troubleshoot issues quickly and learn from incidents to reduce future disruptions. Track platform adoption, usage, and satisfaction to guide continuous improvement. Discovery \& Process Improvement (25%) Conduct discovery with staff to deeply understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities. Collaborate with stakeholders to validate solutions before development or configuration work begins. Translate user needs into lightweight artifacts (user stories, acceptance criteria, hypotheses, process maps) that drive experimentation and learning. Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and improved efficiency across multiple teams and systems. Participate in team planning and prioritization to ensure technology work aligns with organizational goals. Collaborate in an Agile environment, contributing to iterative improvements and responding to evolving priorities. User Success \& Product Advocacy (15%) Act as an internal product champion: drive adoption, encourage best practices, and help empower staff to use systems effectively without needing deep technical expertise, measuring success through usage and satisfaction metrics. Deliver onboarding, training, and ongoing learning opportunities tailored to staff needs. Promote best practices in data entry, reporting, and system usage. Produce clear release notes, update summaries, training materials, and user guides. Promote a culture of transparent, user-centered, evidence-based system improvements. Data Governance \& Operations (10%) Support data governance activities across systems, including data subject access requests (DSARs), and recurring data quality reviews. Manage access to Mozilla Foundation’s systems and tools, including provisioning and de-provisioning of licenses, accounts, roles, and permissions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to access management, platform ownership, and operational procedures. Communicate clearly with stakeholders when handling access changes, system updates, or operational requests. Your Professional Profile: 3 to 5 years of experience in business systems analysis, Salesforce administration, or technical product/operations roles, ideally in a nonprofit setting. Hands-on Salesforce platform experience, including configuration of Flows, validation rules, dashboards, reports, record pages, and permission/security management. Strong ability in gathering, understanding, and translating user needs into system requirements, user stories, process maps, and lightweight documentation. Proficiency with SQL or SOQL for querying, troubleshooting, and analyzing data across systems. Experience working with SaaS platforms beyond Salesforce (e.g., Airtable, FormAssembly, donation platforms, email tools) and supporting cross-system workflows. Familiarity with data tools (Apsona, Data Loader), data quality principles, and handling large datasets. Familiarity with Python to wrangle data, script functions, and automate small tasks is preferred but not required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an outcome-focused approach. Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences. Comfort working in an iterative, collaborative environment with shifting priorities. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams. Commitment to privacy, data stewardship, and ethical use of technology. Familiarity working within Agile or product operating model principles. We Are Excited To See Any Additional Experience With: Experience with nonprofit Client Relationship Management (CRM) frameworks.
