The primary duties of the Project Manager include planning and managing all aspects of high voltage electrical Transmission Line projects of any size and complexity for a large client or regional division of a large client. Experience with overhead transmission line design and construction from 69kV thru 500kV preferred. Specific duties include: Scope and/or proposal development, project team development and assignment, project execution, project closeout, and quality control, schedule, and budget management. Independently coordinates the work of engineers and the balance of the team throughout an entire project life cycle. Understands and implements basic project management tools and techniques and the following: Power Delivery project life cycle, client goals and objectives, contract types and project risk, work breakdown structures, project scope, schedule, and budget, project management plans, financial management and controls, including earned value, and project closeout. Understands and implements contractual terms and conditions, including financial constraints, and coordinates with operations leads to staff and execute projects to meet area financial plans. Coordinates with applicable area leadership, which may not be the local office, for project reviews and with company management as needed. May be engaged in a mentoring/training relationship with one or more Project Managers and/or Assistant Project Managers. Coordinates with marketing and technical leadership for business development and execution. Perform client management and/or technical support activities as needed. LI-BS1 Preferred Qualifications PE license strongly preferred. PMP certification a plus but not required. 3+ years of overall experience, including prior project management. Primary Responsibilities HDR Engineering is currently seeking a Substation EIT/ Substation Designer to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team that executes technical design on substation engineering projects ranging in scale from simple device replacements to large greenfield design projects. This is an excellent growth opportunity for a self-directed individual who is eager to learn and take on new challenges. The primary duties of a Substation EIT include preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports and designs for electrical substations (Low, Medium and High Voltage) and substation systems under the direction and supervision of more senior engineers and designers. The successful/ideal candidate will be seeking knowledge and experience in both the Protection and Control (Indoor) and Physical (Outdoor) aspects of High Voltage (HV) Substation design. Other responsibilities include: Work under the direction of the Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s). Prepare calculations, design sketches and redline drawings. Work with Designers and CAD Technicians to develop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes and project specifications and requirements. Typical designs include one-line diagrams, protection and control schematic development, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and substation grounding. Occasional short-term travel (typically 1-5 days) may be necessary. Longer term (several weeks) assignments may be required infrequently on project assignments. In the role of Transportation Data Analyst \& Developer, we'll count on you to: Support FDOT Freight and Rail Office (FRO) with Rail Highway Crossings Inventory, FDOT Transportation Data Analytics (TDA) Office with the Roadway Characteristics Inventory, and Systems Implementation Office (SIO) with Work Program extracts involving GIS analysis, programming, dashboard development, mapping, etc. Support GIS tasks for multidisciplinary projects Prepare complex scripts or programs to automate functions within a desktop or web-based GIS environment Develop and customize web-mapping interfaces for cloud and on-premise enterprise GIS systems using common development technologies (JavaScript, Blazor, React, .Net) Use platform APIs and SDKs to develop custom solutions Work from, and implement, documented application requirements and develop supporting workflows Understand best practices in developing and maintaining applications, including writing code, testing, and debugging, source control and documentation Develop stand-alone desktop, web, or mobile software applications that integrate spatial and tabular data Work with a team of developers, geospatial analysts, engineers, scientists, business analysts, and planners to gather, organize, quality control, manage, and maintain data products. Lead development projects, plan and design solutions, develop database schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals (in desktop, web, and mobile environments). Support other SIO, TDA and FRO functions as needed Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications Power BI proficiency Azure Cloud Esri Certification Experience in developing applications using ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server with MS SQL Server or Oracle, ArcGIS Mobile, or Microsoft SharePoint Local candidates preferred #LI-HO1 Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography, Planning, Engineering or Natural Sciences A minimum of 3 years of practical GIS experience; an advanced degree in relevant field may offset the required years of experience Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 Apps Expertise in software development using Python, C++, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, or other appropriate programming environment Proficient in use of ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS extensions e.g., 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst etc. Working knowledge of ETL tools (FME) and other advanced analyst tools e.g., ArcGIS Notebooks Attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills and working in a team environment Continuous technical currency An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
