Account Manager

Our team offers a variety of MEP and process piping services, including design-build engineering for new construction and renovation, installation and specialty construction, maintenance, and air balancing, start-up, and energy efficiency services. Job Summary: DeBra-Kuempel is seeking to fill an Account Manager position in our Lexington, Kentucky location. The Account Manager will be responsible for managing account sales, new and existing client relations, and bringing in new business. As the lead point of contact for all client matters, you should anticipate the client’s needs, work within the company to ensure deadlines for clients are met, and help the client succeed. Essential Duties \& Responsibilities: * Management of team personnel: Service Managers, Service Coordinators, Lead Technicians, Apprentices, and Dispatchers. * Manage and maintain appropriate control of account responsibility for profit and loss. * Monitor and manage the Accounts Receivable aging status to ensure collections per company terms and reduction of Account Receivable aging to thirty days or less. * Coordination of service staff necessary to provide prompt and accurate invoicing of service contracts, as well as service repair and service projects. * Lead, mentor, coach and teach in order to expand the skill level of the Service staff; effectively delegate authority to team and departmental performance. * Provide direction to team for operational and functional duties as outlined by management. * Review staffing requirements to meet the business plan and recommend necessary changes. * Provide staff performance reviews per company guidelines; assist Human Resource Manager in maintaining accurate personnel records. * Strive to build, maintain, and create strong customer relationships. * Generate new sales with each client account. * Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and seek avenues to gain new potential clients. * Negotiate contracts with clients; establish timeline of performance. * Establish and oversee internal budgets with the company and external budgets with the client. * Work with sales team, managers, marketing, and team members from other departments dedicated to the same client account to ensure the highest quality of materials are being produced and all sales needs met. * Collaborate with sales team to maximize profit by upselling or cross-selling. * Plan and present reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members, stakeholders, and possible use in future case studies or company training. * Meet all client needs and deliverables according to proposed timelines. * Account Manager Job Requirements and Qualifications. Help identify procurement risks or supply chain issues and proactively coordinate solutions. Qualifications: Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree (i.e. Construction Management, Finance/Business or Electrical Engineering), Journeymen License or Master Electrician 1–3 years of experience in construction project coordination, procurement, or related field (electrical contracting preferred). Procurement experience and must understand billing and collections Good knowledge of how to read electrical drawings Strong understanding of electrical materials, equipment, and vendor networks is a plus. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail. Ability to communicate clearly with project teams, vendors, and field personnel. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction management software preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Able to work independently as well as in a team environment 30 Hour OSHA Certification required within the first year Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship. Insure that appropriate personnel are informed of any nonconformance and that proper corrective action is taken. Investigate the root cause of nonconformance and assist in development of means to avoid recurrence. Ensure that Measure and Testing Equipment is correctly maintained and kept in calibration. Performs audits per plan. Provide for the control and disposition of any project quality related problems. Coordinates Source inspections needs/requirements. Ensures that quality records are achieved as required. Participates in lessons learned. Demonstrate understanding of Corporate Values and Guiding Principles of SIC. Develop and maintain strong interpersonal skills as well as, communication, time management, and other skills necessary for effective management. Actively participate in training opportunities. Be cognizant of marketing opportunities with Clients. + Foster client relationships. Certified Welding Inspector with AWS. Knowledge of ASME, AWS, NB, and all other applicable Codes and application of same. Strong service orientation, outstanding organizational skills, flexibility and professionalism. Excellent verbal communication as well as written skills. Knowledge of various construction trades, construction practices, means and methods. Effective time management, strong detail orientation and accuracy. Ability to work productively with a diverse team and provide customer service. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a constantly changing environment. Previous experience researching corrective options and ability to make recommendations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products – Excel, Word, Outlook; technical aptitude to learn internal systems. Capable of dealing with conflict and difficult people. Working knowledge of managing budgets. Ability to fulfill or assist with other duties as directed by the Assistant Quality Director or Quality Director. Education High school diploma required. BS in Engineering, Construction Management or Industrial Technology – optional. Additional coursework, training and/or certification are also preferred.
