$2,000 SIGN ON BONUS (paid out over time) We’re currently seeking a Full-time Physical Therapy Therapist Assistant (PTA) to evaluate and treat residents and short-term patients at The Meridian Galveston Responsibilities: Provides therapy services in accordance with physician’s orders and accepted professional practices. Registered therapists, develop an overall therapy plan of care to include: treatment and medical diagnosis warranting skilled intervention, planned duration and frequency to be provided, short and long term goals functional and measurable that support the discharge plan; per standards of practice, and established guidelines. Therapists of all disciplines perform skilled treatments according to established plan of care. Documents observations, patient’s response to skilled interventions/treatment programs, degree of progress and notable changes in patient’s condition within specific timeframes. Completes all documentation required timely and in accordance with state and federal regulations and policies/guidelines. Completes all billing required on the date of the provided skilled services, and in accordance with all state and federal regulations, policies/guidelines. Assist with maintaining both the rehab gym equipment and treatment area in a safe manner, using good infection prevention methods. Requirements: Must hold Texas license/certification for PTA. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Organizational and analytical skills required. Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers. Demonstrates the skill set of time management and organization Demonstrated ability to utilize independent and effective clinical judgment, problem-solving and decision making skills. Position Summary The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides skilled physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with physician orders. Key Responsibilities Deliver skilled physical therapy services to patients with injuries, disabilities, or functional limitations. Implement treatment plans including therapeutic exercise, functional training, modalities, and patient education. Accurately document daily treatments and patient progress in compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and regulatory guidelines. Monitor patient responses and report significant changes to the Physical Therapist and referring physician. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs to support independence and recovery. Maintain a safe, professional, and patient-centered clinical environment. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program. Active PTA license/registration in the state of practice. Experience treating acute and chronic conditions preferred. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet patient care demands. Proficiency in English (additional languages a plus).
