Job Summary: Salas O’Brien is seeking an Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for the design of various electrical systems, including but not limited to DCS control systems, PLC control systems, low voltage power distribution, networking and communications design, and process controls design within industrial and utility infrastructure spaces. Job duties include: Execute projects with involvement from conceptual design through completion, working with other engineers and design team members. Perform calculations integral to the electrical systems design. Leverage knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCSs), power distribution, network architecture design, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. Design systems in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC – NFPA70) Prepare instrumentation datasheets and maintain an up-to-date instrument list. Participate in and support design and/or coordination reviews with clients and other project team members. Collaborate with and support engineers and project managers across various projects. Work closely with vendors to support vendor-submitted data for technical reviews and production. Oversee assigned project efforts to ensure adherence to budget and schedule. Capable of increasing technical competency with experience and work ethic. Implement strategies to maximize efficiency and output based on cross-referencing the different technologies and products. Work with plant operations to provide input on continuous improvement of the tooling department. Track mold or tooling prices for all projects to assure we are getting the best value. Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental and department of health requirements. QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years field experience in Engineering. Requires individual with strong background in injection and compression molding Candidate must have experience in process optimization through learned or exhibits the ability to develop new technologies that enhance ROI/EBIT increase Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess the ability to work collaboratively with product development teams, PLM, and internal and external Mold shops to ensure platform success Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 – 12 point font at a distance of 12 – 18 inches. Speak, write, and read effectively in English. Computer literate. Must be able to hear and recognize various sounds such as emergency machine shutdown alarms.
