Content Editor

24 Seven TalentHouston, TX

From $12/yr

Our client is seeking a Copywriter/Content Editor with B2B experience. This is a 12 month contract (40 hours a week) with potential to extend. Houston based candidates preferred but remote flexible for the right candidate. Must be able to work CST hours if located in another timezone. OVERVIEW The Content Editor is a hands-on writer and editor responsible for shaping clear, compelling and accurate content across social, editorial, email and website communications. This is more than a proofreading role: from a client-provided outline, script or set of talking points, you'll write and shape original copy as often as you'll edit someone else's draft, and you're expected to catch problems in structure, tone and message before they become a client's problem. Working as part of an integrated creative pod, the Content Editor partners with Content Creators, Integrated Producers and other pod members across social, editorial, email and website communications. Above all, this role is a steward of the client's brand voice and guidelines: every piece that passes through you should sound like the same company, no matter who wrote the first draft or which channel it's headed to. This is an early-to-mid-career role. We're looking for someone with 1–3 years of experience at an advertising agency or corporate in-house creative studio who can move comfortably between long-form content, short-form social writing, substantive editing and detailed copyediting. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING * Write copy from a provided client outline, script or set of talking points, as well as edit and refine drafts written by others * Turn briefs, source material and communications objectives into clear, engaging and audience-appropriate content * Write and adapt social copy, headlines, captions and short-form storytelling for different platforms and audiences * Provide substantive editing as well as copyediting and proofreading, improving structure, clarity, tone and storytelling * Serve as a steward of the client's brand voice and guidelines, flagging and correcting anything that drifts from either * Adapt content across channels, audiences and formats while maintaining a consistent company voice and message * Partner with Content Creators and Social team members to ensure copy, design and visual storytelling work together as a cohesive story * Support scripts and copy for video, social and other multimedia content * Work within an integrated creative pod led by Producers, helping move assignments efficiently from brief through final content * Incorporate stakeholder, legal, compliance and substantiation feedback accurately and efficiently while protecting the clarity and integrity of the content WHAT MAKES YOU QUALIFIED * 1–3 years of experience in writing, editing, editorial, social content, communications, journalism or a related discipline, at an advertising agency or corporate in-house creative studio * Strong steward of the client's brand voice and guidelines, with the judgment to protect them across every format and channel * Demonstrated ability to write original copy from an outline, script or brief, not only edit someone else's draft * Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and storytelling skills across a range of formats and audiences * Strong command of grammar, style, tone and voice with exceptional attention to detail * Experience writing and editing for social media, with an understanding of platform-specific voice, length, format and audience expectations * Strong editorial judgment with the ability to quickly identify the core message and determine the clearest way to communicate it * Experience writing scripts or copy for video content is a plus * Comfortable managing multiple assignments and quick-turn requests in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment * Collaborative, adaptable and comfortable working closely with producers, designers and other creative partners * Send your resume and portfolio to be considered

UK Content Editor

IG GroupCity Of London, England, UK

From $100/yr

Job Title UK Content Editor Job Description Job Title So, who are we? IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.4m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses. The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next. Join us at IG – the future gets built here. Your Team Own the editorial engine that grows IG's organic visibility in the UK. This role produces authoritative, search-optimised content across trading, investing and markets, turning complex financial topics into content that ranks, builds trust, and converts readers into clients. It sits at the intersection of editorial quality, SEO discipline, and financial-promotions compliance. What You’ll Do * Plan and produce a high-quality pipeline of articles across CFDs and leveraged trading, share dealing and investing, crypto, and tax-efficient products such as ISAs, mapped to commercial priorities. * Own the UK editorial calendar end to end, covering topic and keyword research, briefing, writing, editing, and publishing. * Translate SEO strategy into content, including search intent, keyword targeting, internal linking, and on-page optimisation, using tools such as Ahrefs. * Raise the bar on editorial standards, delivering accuracy, clarity, and a distinctive house voice that differentiates IG in a crowded market. * Partner with Compliance so that all content meets FCA financial-promotions requirements without losing editorial quality or speed. * Commission and edit freelance and contributor content where needed, maintaining consistency and standards at scale. * Track organic performance across rankings, traffic, engagement, and assisted conversions, and iterate content based on what drives results. What You'll Need * Strong editorial background with demonstrable experience writing and editing about financial markets, trading, or investing for a general audience. * Proven ability to write for SEO, with a clear understanding of search intent and the judgement to balance ranking mechanics with genuinely useful content. * Hands-on fluency with SEO tooling such as Ahrefs, and comfort working from performance data. * Excellent command of written English, with sharp attention to accuracy and detail. * Self-directed and fast, able to manage a busy publishing schedule independently and hit a consistent cadence. Desirable Requirements * Working knowledge of FCA financial-promotions rules, or experience producing content in another regulated environment. * Familiarity with retail trading and investing products, and the audiences that use them. * Experience commissioning or managing freelance writers and contributors. * Comfort with CMS and analytics platforms, and basic on-page technical SEO. The Perks It really is more than a job. We think like a start-up, but we deliver like a FTSE 100 — so the bar is high, and we won't pretend otherwise. We work hybrid, which means three days in the office. We’ll recognise your talent and make sure that you can still have a life – at work, and outside of it. Networks, committees, awards, sports and social clubs, mentorships, volunteering opportunities, extra time off… the list goes on. Competitive salary * Flexible Benefits Package on top of your salary (12%) * Private medical cover * Life insurance * Contribution to gym memberships * 25 Days holiday, with 1 additional day off to celebrate your Birthday \& 2 additional days off a year for voluntary work (28 in total) * The option to buy or sell holiday days * Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning Platform * A comprehensive global and local onboarding process * Employee-led LGBTQ+, Women's, Black and Parents \& Carers networks with an annual budget for organising events \& projects that foster an open, diverse and inclusive culture * Enhanced primary (maternity), secondary (paternity), and shared parental pay and leave, as well as a range of support and benefits for parents * Option to participate and create ESG initiatives based on IG Brighter Future Fund Number of openings 1
