Management Accountant
Management Accountant Gateshead | Full time | £50,000–£60,000 (depending on experience) Are you a commercially minded Management Accountant who enjoys turning financial data into meaningful business insight? We are looking for a fully qualified CIMA professional to join our team in Gateshead and play a key role in strengthening financial control, supporting better decisions and driving business performance. This is a varied, hands-on opportunity with real visibility across the business. You will take ownership of monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management while partnering with stakeholders to improve profitability and efficiency. With exposure to international operations, systems integration and business planning, the role offers scope to make a tangible impact. Responsibilities of the role: * Preparing accurate monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting * Producing clear financial reporting packs for the management team and Board * Analysing performance against budgets, forecasts and prior periods, investigating variances and recommending action * Leading annual budgeting and periodic forecasting, including financial modelling and scenario planning * Managing month-end and year-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and provisions * Maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies and company procedures * Monitoring cash flow and working capital, including receivables, payables, debtor and creditor balances * Supporting overseas payroll, company banking, employee expenses, invoicing and debt collection * Partnering with teams across the business-on-business cases and ad hoc financial projects What we’re looking for: * Fully qualified CIMA status * Proven experience in management accounting or a similar finance role * Strong knowledge of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and month-end procedures * Experience of international finance operations, such as currency exchange, flow of funds or overseas payroll partners * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using accounting and ERP systems * Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues * A collaborative, flexible approach and confidence working across different teams It would be great if you also have: * Experience with Power BI or other reporting and data analysis tools * Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics * Experience integrating accounting systems with other business applications, including CRM platforms * Experience establishing companies or legal entities overseas What we will offer in return: * A competitive salary of £50,000–£60,000, depending on experience. * A full-time role based in Gateshead * A broad, influential finance position with the opportunity to shape business decisions * The chance to work across international operations, systems and strategic projects Ready to make an impact?
