Director of Operations
Role Overview The Director of Operations (DOO) is a senior leadership position responsible for the financial health, operational execution, and internal systems of Keller Williams Realty Portland Central. This role works closely with ownership and leadership to ensure the Market Center runs efficiently, profitably, and at a high standard of service—allowing agents and leaders to focus on growth, production, and client experience. The DOO serves as the operational backbone of the organization, providing clarity, consistency, and confidence across finances, compliance, and day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities Financial \& Operational Management Oversee the financial integrity and profitability of the Market Center. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Oversee full accounting operations including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities using AccountEdge. Process and audit commission distributions with accuracy and timeliness. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, agent billing, and vendor relationships. Complete regular bank reconciliations and monthly accounting closes. Prepare monthly financial reports including profit, closings, and company dollar tracking. Coordinate year-end accounting, tax preparation, and serve as liaison with CPA. Manage 1099 reporting, income verifications, garnishments, and compliance requirements. Oversee healthcare, E\&O insurance, workers compensation, and general liability programs. Ensure compliance with Washington State business filings and regulatory requirements. Maintain strong expense controls across multiple office locations. Agent \& Staff Support Provide high-level operational and financial support to approximately 300+ agents. Serve as the primary point of contact for commission, financial, and operational questions. Support agent retention through accuracy, responsiveness, and professionalism. Participate in agent business conversations including goal tracking and performance reviews. Assist with business meetings, awards, and recognition events. Support leadership in managing, developing, and holding accountable a staff team of approximately 10 employees. Leadership \& Strategic Execution Partner with ownership and leadership to execute strategies for sustainable growth and profitability. Build and maintain systems that allow leadership to focus on culture, productivity, and market share. Track and report on key performance metrics including appointments, GCI, net income, and profit. Communicate actual results clearly and proactively identify solutions when performance is off target. Develop and communicate the Market Center value proposition on a monthly basis. Utilize company dollar tracking tools to monitor received and pending income. Help implement leverage and accountability models to support scalable growth. Qualifications \& Skills Confident, supportive leader with a high level of integrity and discretion. 3+ years of experience in operations, accounting, administration, management, or real estate. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and follow-through skills. Comfortable with technology and adaptable in a fast-changing environment. People-oriented problem solver with a service mindset. High school diploma required; college degree preferred. Willingness to grow with the organization as systems and responsibilities evolve. Compensation This role has a salary of $70,000 - $80,000 a year with the opportunity to earn additional income. This role also receives employer subsidized health insurance, and a 401k with an employer match.
