Chief Operations Officer
Role Overview The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for the overall operational excellence of the college. The role involves translating the institution’s strategic vision into effective operational plans, ensuring academic, administrative, and support functions work cohesively to achieve institutional goals. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership * Partner with the CEO and Board to develop and execute the college’s long-term strategic plan. * Drive institutional growth, sustainability, and operational efficiency. * Lead change management initiatives to enhance academic and administrative performance. * Represent the institution in strategic discussions, partnerships, and regulatory forums. Academic \& Administrative Operations * Oversee day-to-day operations across academics, admissions, examinations, HR, finance, IT, infrastructure, and student services. * Ensure smooth coordination between academic leadership and administrative teams. * Monitor and improve operational processes, policies, and systems. Governance \& Compliance * Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (UGC/AICTE/University norms, as applicable). * Support accreditation processes (NAAC, NBA, ISO, etc.). * Ensure institutional policies align with statutory and governance requirements. Financial \& Resource Management * Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and cost optimization in coordination with the finance team. * Ensure effective utilization of resources and infrastructure. * Support fundraising, grants, and revenue diversification initiatives. People \& Culture * Provide leadership to department heads and senior administrators. * Build a performance-driven, collaborative, and student-centric culture. * Support talent development, succession planning, and leadership capability building. Student Experience \& Quality Enhancement * Ensure high standards of student experience, academic delivery, and campus services. * Drive initiatives to improve student outcomes, placements, and institutional reputation. * Monitor key performance indicators related to student success and satisfaction. Qualifications \& Experience * Postgraduate degree in Management, Education, Administration, or a related field (PhD preferred). * Minimum 10 years of experience, with 5+ years in a senior leadership or strategic role in higher education or a comparable sector. * Proven experience in institutional operations, strategy execution, and stakeholder management. * Strong understanding of higher education regulations and accreditation frameworks. * Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
