Intermediate Drafting Technologist
Job Summary The Intermediate Drafting Technologist will complete drafting of electrical distribution systems and preparing electronic (CAD) working plans for various residential, commercial and industrial projects. Education \& Qualifications * 3-7 years of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation drafting experience. * Experience drafting power distribution systems would be considered an asset. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications would be considered an asset. * Electrical Design \& Drafting Technology or Engineering Design Technology Diploma or CAD Certificate from a recognized technical institution. * First aid and CPR certification would be considered an asset. Responsibilities * Draft underground and overhead power distribution systems using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. * Draft traffic signal, lighting and electrical drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. * Utilize knowledge of design standards and procedures when completing drawings and deliverables to client and industry specifications. * Create single line diagrams, electrical layouts, schematics and wiring. * Conduct drawing reviews and corrections including following QAQC processes. * Support the project team in delivering high quality client service. * Collaborate with senior designers and engineers for support and development on more challenging tasks. * Work closely with senior team members to support and mentor more junior team members. * Ensure all safety procedures and processes are followed with the goal of zero injury. * Work safely and follow all rules and procedures including attending and participating in safety meetings and completing all required safety orientation and training. * Completion of other relevant duties as required.
