Job Summary The Senior Manager: Management Information is responsible for defining and executing the strategy, operating model and delivery roadmap for credit and capital management information (MI) across Business Banking Risk. This role ensures the development of high quality reporting, base analytics and insights that enable data driven decision making, while embedding strong governance, best practice standards and scalable delivery frameworks. The incumbent leads a multidisciplinary team, including business analysts, database administrators, solutions designers, visualisation specialists and data analysts to deliver accurate, timely and trusted reports, dashboards and intelligence that support both strategic and operational priorities. Job Description 1. Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of MI solutions Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of dashboards, reports, datasets and analytical deliverables tailored to the needs of Business Banking Risk. Enable cross‑functional delivery by coordinating work across diverse specialist disciplines and ensuring capacity, prioritization and timelines are effectively managed. Ensure MI outputs are intuitive, business‑relevant and aligned to stakeholder expectations. 2. Elevate MI from reporting to actionable intelligence Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the function. Expand the team’s focus beyond standard reporting to deliver insights that highlight trends, risks, opportunities and dependencies. Guide and empower direct and indirect reports to deepen analytical capability and influence business decisions. 3. Champion integration into business processes Ensure alignment of MI solutions with business goals, regulatory requirements, and enterprise data strategies. Support the development and adoption of tools, methodologies and behavioral change required to drive a data‑driven culture. 4. Engage stakeholders to define and deliver MI and analytics requirements Partner with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver insights and analytics to enable decision making. Partner with stakeholders to define new system or reporting requirements and review existing practices for improvements. Translate challenges into structured requirements and ensure solutions are responsive, scalable and relevant. Facilitate continuous dialogue with stakeholders to refine deliverables and improve business value. 5. Drive system and reporting enhancements Identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, simplification and optimization in current processes and reporting practices. Lead the definition of new system or reporting requirements and collaborate with technology teams to ensure solution feasibility and delivery. Continuously review existing reporting frameworks to eliminate duplication, clarify ownership and enhance usefulness. 6. Ensure integrity and governance Oversee the centralized RDARR oversight capability within the team. Oversee the creation, maintenance and certification of datasets on MI and data platforms. Enforce adherence to data governance principles, ensuring data quality, accuracy, lineage, and controlled access. Promote the use of trusted, golden sources of information across all MI teams and stakeholders 7. Build a unified and scalable MI ecosystem Partner with MI teams across other verticals and enabling functions to promote a shared roadmap of technologies, methodologies and standards. Advocate for common tools, templates and delivery practices that enhance consistency, interoperability and scalability. Influence enterprise MI strategies through collaborative leadership and proactive engagement 8. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration Create an environment that encourages continuous improvement, experimentation and the adoption of new technologies or methods. Invest in building team capabilities, supporting professional development and nurturing talent across technical and analytical disciplines. Required Skills Management Information (MI) Development: Expertise in designing and delivering reports, dashboards, datasets and analytical solutions. Data Analysis \& Interpretation: Ability to extract insights from large, complex datasets and translate them into meaningful recommendations. Data Modelling \& Architecture: Understanding of database structures, data pipelines, and integration across multiple platforms. Data Visualization: Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or similar. Business Intelligence Tools \& Technologies: Experience with SQL, ETL tools, cloud data platforms, and enterprise MI systems. Data Governance \& Quality Management: Strong grasp of data lineage, data standards, golden sources, and data integrity controls (RDARR). Process Automation: Familiarity with workflow optimization, automation tools and simplification methodologies. Microsoft proficiency: Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint. Business Acumen: Understanding of risk management, business banking and financial services context. Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to understand business needs, manage expectations and translate them into technical requirements. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Change Management: Ability to guide adoption of new systems, processes and insights across diverse teams. Strong planning, project management and prioritization capabilities. Continuous Improvement: Ability to identify and drive opportunities for process, technology and reporting optimization. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as: Information Systems, Data Science / Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Risk Management / Finance (if role sits within a Risk function) Advantageous certifications: Microsoft certifications (Power BI, Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer), SQL / Database Engineering certifications, Data Governance certifications (e.g., DAMA), Analytics certifications (e.g., SAS, Tableau), Project / Change certifications (e.g., Agile, Prince2, Scrum) Work Experience: 8–10 years of experience in Management Information (MI), Business Intelligence (BI), Data Analytics, or related data‑focused roles. 3–5 years of leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams. Job Summary This role involves working closely with a team of distress restructuring specialists to partner on developing financial models that balance solution-orientated thinking with accuracy to a portfolio of companies experiencing financial distress to formulate client strategies and execute restructuring and turnaround strategies. Job Description Accountability Credit Management Analyse and were appropriate stress test client forecasts and short-term cash flows. Conduct strategic options analysis for distressed clients – including financial restructuring and exit strategies. Manage and monitor a portfolio of clients within the Business Support environment against the determined strategy of either “Turnaround” or “Managed Exit”. Lead negotiations with customers, other lenders, creditors and 3rd party advisors regarding the agreement to and implementation of strategy, to ensure properly mitigated credit risk for the Bank. Where appropriate, obtain customer’s agreement to the use of professionals including accountants, turnaround professionals, attorneys and property professionals. For turnaround customers, agree critical success factors in liaison with Relationship Executives, Regional Credit Managers and other Credit teams to ensure credit risk normalisation and relationship preservation. Obtain customer commitment and agreement to implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies and remedial actions to improve the client credit risk profile. Monitor customer progress against agreed strategies and action plans through analysis/appraisal of plans and budgets \& cash flow. Identify where risk mitigation strategies have broken down and negotiate and implement remedial or corrective action in consultation with the client. Deliver high standards of credit quality for high-risk cases through the application of best practice to credit proposals. Make lending decisions within an appropriate personal mandate. Perform robust financial and non-financial analysis on the client that will support and underpin all new proposals in terms of the clients' credit risk implications by liaising closely with business to formulate Credit applications/proposals. Assess credit applications for WL clients within own mandate and approve or decline these applications or recommend to the appropriate sanctioning level. Facilitate the credit sanctioning process by responding to sanctioned enquiries i.e. non - acceptance of approved terms and conditions, applications and/or attend all relevant Credit meetings, where necessary, in order to present and sponsor credit applications that have been submitted under the mandate holder's signature. Manage exposures by taking daily credit decisions and reviewing information from various systems e.g Credit Management System, and taking credit decisions accordingly. Use information gathered in support of reviews/amendments/new applications to be submitted to Business Support in liaison with the Relationship Executives (RE). Request and drive valuations on properties from RE’s/business units, which serve as security for facilities to be used to calculate impairments. Champion the Business Support team’s relationship with internal and external customers, develop a strong network of internal contacts, external and panel professionals to maximise financial benefit for the Bank. To drive the implementation of appropriate strategies and/or risk mitigation measures in the client portfolio with a view to reducing the Capital at Risk. Inputs into the fortnightly/monthly impairment forecasting, as required from time to time. Proactively manage Business Rescue as governed by Chapter 6 of the Companies Act of 2008, and in alignment with the existing Business Support Procedures for time to time. Monitor the client’s business performance on a continuous basis, in addition to performing formal reviews at specified time intervals, to ensure early identification of changes to the client's risk profile. Analyse the clients' historical data i.e. financial statements to forecast the client’s potential growth and sustainability and make recommendations or take decisions within mandate. Ensure client meets financial covenants and the facility terms and conditions on a monthly basis by reviewing in line with the agreed covenants/terms and conditions/timelines. Structure a lending solution for the client based on the analysis conducted, that will account for the potential threats to the client and, that is within set credit limits and the Bank's credit lending policies and appetite. Review and recommend the impairment calculations (based on Capital at Risk), strategy to be adopted and WL risk classification for each client, which forms part of the WL Watch List summary for all clients under his/her control. Review the Impairment/Capital at Risk calculation, on a monthly basis and sign off in line with the Bank’s policies. To manage the clients' value to Absa through optimising revenue opportunities i.e. pricing for risk in terms of the Pricing policy. Mitigate and manage the credit exposure to the Bank by adhering to the Business Support Policy and Procedures and the Bank's Credit policy. Interact with clients, where necessary, and resolve on a timely basis, all client credit related problems/queries as and when required by interacting with the stakeholders and formulating the appropriate solution/strategy to be adopted for a particular client. Maintain thorough, accurate and up to date case management recordal, which include a set of financials, evaluations and credit decisions. Obtain input from Product Industry Specialist/s, where appropriate, for assistance in analysing the risk for specific clients. Ensure that the monthly Watch List is accurate and completed in line with the relevant policies and procedures. Job Summary Responsible for the monitoring and analysis of economic, regulatory, technological and other relevant variables, in understanding the international and domestic Manufacturing Sector Analyst Sector. Collate the relevant data on current customer & economic trends that identify opportunities for market share growth, thereby building knowledge as an emerging subject matter expert. In addition to providing day-to-day support, the role will require assisting the manager in collation of customer insights which will, along with other insights, help establish and influence the Manufacturing Sector strategy. Accountability: Sector Intelligence and support to key internal stakeholders • Compile research, monthly reports and newsletters analysing the key variables affecting the sector, the trends therein and the outlook for Manufacturing subsectors and the industry. • Provide Manufacturing sector support to credit teams, in the form of research or feasibility assessment / deal input, as inputs into customer engagements and deals. • Assist in building of generic sector financial models as well as assessment of feasibility models for deals. • Support the collection and maintenance of data which will contribute to the effective delivery of, as well as in the broader planning of the RB Manufacturing sector strategy. • Acts as first line of assessment of market requirements for products or services, define the potential market size to determine prioritisation of new development, and provide input for the expansion of business development and marketing plans for RB Manufacturing sector. • Develop sufficient understanding of RB customers and how their needs can be met through Manufacturing sector offerings and the products or services RB have in place to help assist in this solution. • Assist in the researching and qualification of value adding and innovative solutions or propositions for RB and/or Group by participating in Industry bodies, contact with customers and 3rd parties, or related external stakeholders. • Prepare and present reports and presentations to stakeholders (Credit, Customer, Distribution and Product) on emerging industry or sector trends. • Assist in the identification of complex business opportunities on a continuous basis by researching clients to discover and recognise potential cross-sell opportunities. • Participate in relevant Knowledge Management Forums and Communities of Best Practice.
