Oversee manpower, resource allocation, site surveys, and project profitability. Technical \& Engineering Support: Manage 3D modelling, shop detailing, technical reviews, drawing verification, QA/QC coordination (e.g., WPS, welding, NDT), and fabrication monitoring. Lead startup meetings and ensure alignment with client and contract specifications. Health, Safety \& Compliance: Implement and maintain HSE policies, ensure legal and regulatory compliance, and contribute to safety system development. Stakeholder \& Client Engagement: Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to clarify technical aspects, resolve queries, and manage change orders or variations. Procurement \& Logistics: Coordinate raw material and consumable procurement, monitor stock levels, and support maintenance planning. Reporting \& Documentation: Prepare tenders, project updates, progress reports, Fabrication Data Books, and final project summaries. Team Leadership \& Development: Supervise and train project engineers, lead production meetings, and participate in business development initiatives. Profile Educational background: B.Eng Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering degree Years of experience: 5+ years of experience in a similar role Industry knowledge: Experience working in the fabrication/marine/oil and gas sector will be advantageous. This position will provide leadership and co-ordination of the day-to-day safety requirements of the workshop and on-site projects according to company, client and legal safety standards. ### Profile Responsibilities / Duties / Job Skills Conduct safety activities, by conducting scheduled and unscheduled safety inspections. Observe work in progress and ensure that proper safety equipment is worn and relevant safety procedures are followed. Notify management and staff regarding violations of safety regulations and codes and make recommendations for corrections and follows-up to ensure that violations have been corrected. Investigate safety and health complaints submitted by management and employees. Develop and implement, after approval, internal safety rules, policies and guidelines and employee instructions. Conduct and provide safety training and safety toolbox talks. Provide HSE support to the projects by maintaining a visible presence in the workshops and project sites, where applicable. Assist in the coaching, mentoring and implementation of the HSE programmes in the workshop. Assist in auditing the Safety Management System. Provide direction, HSE support and resources to all project managers, supervisors and team leaders. Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately. Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and implemented. Ensure safety boards with postings including, but not limited to Health and Safety policy, inspections and audit results, project hazard assessment, location of first aid, etc. are maintained. Prepare for and participate in audits such as ISO 45001. Comply with all relevant health, safety, environmental, quality, legal and regulatory requirements as stipulated by company requirements. Training all the employees on the job specific risk assessment and written safe work procedure. To ensure and enforce compliance with company and client SHE requirements. Ensure good housekeeping practices. Ensure correct PPE compliance is maintained. Inspect tools and equipment on a continuous basis. Inspect stores in area of responsibility. Inspect work areas and working conditions and identify hazards, eliminate and mitigate on the spot. Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience Minimum 3-year health and safety field experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. The ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessment to company operations and activities. Medical fit and in good physical condition. Availability to travel. Occupational Health and Safety Diploma or Certificate e.g. SAMTRAC / Nebosh. Registered with SACPCMP as CHSO. In 2024, 3C Metal Group joined the Ortec Group, further enhancing our capabilities and expanding our global presence. ### Profile Key Responsibilities: To continuously review quality control processes, procedures and capabilities in order to sustain the most cost effective and efficient methods for meeting quality requirements and making recommendations for improvement as appropriate on project level. Review customer QC requirements and ensure that quality control documentation for a project meets contractual requirements. Attend ‘Start Up’ meetings and assist Project Managers with project preparation. Assisting QC Staff and others in performing quality duties and the interpretation and application of standards, codes and specifications. Coordinate with third party and NDT companies subject to project requirements, upon request of QC Manager and or Project Manager (e.g. NDT, certify load and/or pressure tests, third party assigned by the client etc. Prepare, update and follow up production documents (including but not limited to Welding Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), associated Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Welder Qualification Records (WQR)) subject to project requirements. Coordinate the activity of the documentation process to meet the Project Manager’s requirements concerning the completion of the fabrication data books. Monitor and record the calibration of measuring equipment. Inform the project managers of any deviation regarding the contract. Ensures the correct application of quality control phase. Ensure that all activities are carried out according to reference documentation. Ensure that the tests, controls and inspections are carried out and that personnel have access to all required project documentation and reports. Comply with all health and safety and other statutory regulations Collection and maintenance of the Quality Control records of the Quality Documentary system. Implement corrective and preventive actions when a problem is raised at any level. Manage and coordinate dimensional, visual, NDT and corrosion protection inspections activities. Coordinate, monitor and prepare procedures for approval.
