We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) to support the design, integration, and implementation of mechanical systems for semiconductor manufacturing facilities and other high\-tech industrial environments. This position will provide engineering expertise throughout project planning, design development, technical reviews, installation, and commissioning to ensure mechanical systems meet project specifications, applicable codes, quality standards, and operational requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems design, facility utilities, piping systems, HVAC, and engineering coordination. Experience with semiconductor fabrication facilities, cleanrooms, process piping, or industrial construction projects is highly desirable.
**Duties:**
**Mechanical Engineering and Design**
* Develop, review, and coordinate mechanical engineering designs for semiconductor manufacturing facilities and industrial projects.
* Design and evaluate mechanical systems, including HVAC, ventilation, exhaust, piping, and facility utility systems, as applicable to project requirements.
* Review mechanical drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P\&IDs), equipment layouts, specifications, and construction documents.
* Perform engineering calculations involving fluid flow, pressure drop, thermal loads, equipment sizing, and system performance.
* Evaluate mechanical equipment, pumps, valves, fans, chillers, and related components to ensure proper selection and integration.
* Identify design conflicts and recommend solutions to improve system performance, reliability, maintainability, and safety.
**Semiconductor Facility and Process Utility Support**
* Support the design and integration of facility systems serving semiconductor manufacturing equipment and cleanroom environments.
* Coordinate mechanical piping and utility systems, including process cooling water, chilled water, compressed air, vacuum, and other facility services as required.
* Support the design review and coordination of specialty gas and chemical delivery systems where applicable to the project scope.
* Work with design teams to coordinate equipment hookups, utility connections, routing, and installation requirements.
* Ensure mechanical designs accommodate space constraints, equipment access, maintenance requirements, and applicable facility standards.
**Project Engineering and Construction Support**
* Coordinate with project managers, construction personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and other engineering disciplines.
* Review field installations to verify conformance with approved drawings, design specifications, and applicable codes.
* Resolve field engineering questions, design discrepancies, and installation challenges.
* Participate in design reviews, construction meetings, equipment startup, system testing, and commissioning.
* Evaluate proposed design changes and support project documentation, schedules, and technical deliverables.
* Provide technical guidance to designers, drafters, and field personnel throughout project execution.
**Quality Assurance and Code Compliance**
* Ensure mechanical designs comply with applicable building, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection codes and project\-specific standards.
* Review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, inspection reports, and as\-built documentation.
* Support quality control reviews, equipment performance verification, and corrective\-action activities.
* Promote safe engineering practices and ensure mechanical systems meet applicable operational and environmental requirements.
**Cross\-Functional Collaboration**
* Coordinate with electrical, structural, process, piping, controls, and construction teams to resolve design interfaces.
* Communicate technical recommendations and project risks to clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
* Support design coordination using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and other engineering tools as appropriate.
