Inbound Operations Manager

The Inbound Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the Receiving, Returns and Machine Operations (MACOPS) within the Centurion Distribution Centre. The role ensures that stock is received, processed and made available to the distribution network accurately, efficiently and on time, supporting on time in full product availability and store service levels. The role provides leadership across all inbound functions, ensuring resources, processes and teams work together effectively to achieve operational, financial, safety and service targets. It is accountable for workforce planning, cost control, supplier and labour broker management, asset protection, compliance and continuous improvement. The role therefore exists to provide an end\-to\-end leadership of inbound operations, ensuring efficient inventory flow, effective use of resources and the achievement of business objectives. **Job Objectives:** * To lead and manage the Receiving, Returns and MACOPS functions to facilitate the accurate and timely flow of inventory throughout the Distribution Centre. * To achieve operational and financial targets through effective resource allocation, productivity management and cost control. * To develop high\-performing talent through effective leadership, capability building and employee relations practices. * To maintain inventory accuracy, operational efficiency and service levels in support of business and store requirements. * To manage relationships with suppliers, labour brokers, service providers and internal stakeholders to support operational performance. * To uphold health and safety standards, company policies, standard operating procedures and legislative requirements. * To safeguard and optimise company assets and operational resources through appropriate controls and accountability measures. * To identify and implement operational improvements that enhance productivity, efficiency and service delivery. **Experience:** * Essential: 5 years’ experience in logistics at middle management level, managing stakeholders (labour brokers, transporters, vendors, etc) * 3\-5 inbound/outbound management distribution centre/retail experience * 3 Financial Management/Cost control * 5 People management business and management principles * 5 experiences in customer service **Knowledge:** * Conceptualizing solutions for Business demand * Technical and system knowledge supply chain/logistics applications and processes * Experience in implementing and managing complex picking systems and supporting such systems. * Health and safety **Skills:** * Verbal and written communication skills * Computer Literacy * SAP * Ability to work with business stakeholders and translate requirements into achievable process/IT solutions. * Ability to conceptualize and lead the design and implementation of complex systems. * Ability to solve complex business \& technical problems. * Has strong capability in change management communication. * Ability to work on multiple projects at once and competing priorities. **Competencies:** * Project management and methodologies * Asset Management and Maintenance * Leading technical deliverables and implementation * Deciding and Initiating Action * Leading and Supervising * Delivering Results and Meeting Customer Expectations * Relating and Networking * Planning and Organizing **Desirable:** * Working with People * Adapting and Responding to Change * Coping with Pressures and Setbacks * Achieving Personal Work Goals and Objectives * Business and management principles
