The Group is focused on providing specialist\-orientated, multidisciplinary services across the continuum of care in such a way that the Group will be regarded as the most respected and trusted provider of healthcare services by patients, medical practitioners, funders and regulators of healthcare in each of its markets. **MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB** To provide a comprehensive, professional, and cost\-effective pharmaceutical service to in\-hospital patients and the public, in full compliance with applicable legislation, SAPC regulations, and internal policies and procedures. **KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS** **Ensure the availability of medicines and scheduled substances to stores and the public** **Ensure accurate dispensing** **Ensure efficient stock holding of medicines and scheduled substances** **Deliver a safe and efficient medication service** **Provide an outpatient pharmacy service** **Required Education** **ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:** B Pharm / B Sc Pharm / Dip Pharm **DESIRED EDUCATION: None** **Required Experience** **ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:** N/A **DESIRED EXPERIENCE:** 1\-3 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy Stock management and distribution **Required Job Skills And Knowledge** * Relevant Pharmacy legislation (e.g. Pharmacy Act, Good Pharmacy Practices; Medicine Control Act 101 of 1965\) * Knowledge of the pharmacy and related healthcare industry * Ethical and surgical product knowledge * Financial Management * Ethical stock control practices and principles * Knowledge and experience working with relevant pharmacy systems (e.g. UNISOLV, AS400 \& SAP) * Training and mentoring * Medical Aid Scheme benefits, regulations and formularies * Pharmacology, including Clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardships
