With **13 major customers across Australia and New Zealand** , alongside a growing presence in Europe and the US, the business is entering an exciting phase of growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with **strong technical accounting foundations** who wants to take ownership, gain broader commercial exposure and grow their career alongside a scaling technology business. **The Opportunity** This is a broad Financial Accountant position offering the opportunity to become a key part of a growing finance function, with genuine scope to take on more responsibility as the business scales. Initially, the role will focus on **month\-end accounting, financial reporting, audit and tax compliance** , while also supporting the transition of currently outsourced finance activities back in\-house. The business is looking for someone who enjoys being hands\-on, is technically strong and wants to build their career beyond traditional accounting responsibilities. Key responsibilities will include: * Taking ownership of **month\-end accounting processes** , including journals, reconciliations and financial reporting * Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting the integrity of the general ledger * Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting * Assisting with **year\-end reporting and external audit requirements** * Managing and supporting tax compliance activities and working with external advisors * Supporting the transition of **accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll** from outsourced providers into the internal finance function * Assisting with the development and implementation of financial controls, policies and procedures * Identifying opportunities to improve existing accounting processes and reporting efficiencies * Supporting broader finance projects as the business continues to scale * Working closely with senior stakeholders to provide accurate financial information and support business decisions * Taking on additional responsibilities as the finance function develops **About You** We are looking for an **ambitious, technically strong Financial Accountant** who is keen to take ownership, work hard and progress their career within a growing business. There are two backgrounds that could work particularly well for this opportunity. You may currently be working within **public practice, particularly business services or tax** , and looking to make your first move into a commercial accounting role. Alternatively, you may have developed your experience within **industry** and be looking for a broader position with more responsibility and long\-term progression. Ideally, you will have: * **CA/CPA qualification** , either completed or currently studying towards * Strong technical accounting foundations and understanding of accounting standards * Experience across **month\-end, reconciliations and financial reporting** * Exposure to tax compliance, statutory reporting and audit processes * Experience within business services, tax or a commercial accounting environment * A genuine desire to **take ownership, develop new skills and progress into a more senior finance position** **Candidates from audit backgrounds will also be considered** , although business services, tax or relevant industry experience would be particularly well suited. **Culture \& Environment** This is a **high\-energy, ambitious and social business** that values people who are willing to go on the journey, take responsibility and contribute to its continued growth.
