Company Description Centss, a growing, innovative and technology-driven tax and accounting firm in Potchefstroom, is looking for a qualified accountant to join us as Accountant and Accounting Technology Coordinator. We believe a positive working environment and a happy, motivated team lead to the great client service we are known for Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Potchefstroom for an Accountant and Accounting Technology Coordinator. Accounting is the foundation of everything we do, so you will look after a small portfolio of clients. Most of your time, however, will go into making the firm work smarter: coordinating how we use technology and AI, improving our internal processes, and leading the team through change. WHAT YOU WILL DO * Manage a small client portfolio: full function accounting up to trial balance and draft financial statements * Use AI, particularly Claude, in your daily work and help the team do the same * Design, document and review internal processes and workflows, and identify where automation and AI can add value * Monitor Xero and other software updates, assess their impact on our processes and roll out the changes to the team * Train and support colleagues on new tools and processes, and drive adoption * Act as the link between the team and our software providers REQUIREMENTS * Accounting degree and completed articles * Registered with SAIPA, AGA(SA) or CA(SA) * Proven accounting experience, ideally in a tax and accounting practice * Working experience in Xero (essential) * Hands-on experience working with AI, especially Claude (essential) * Ability to map, write and improve processes, and to manage change within a team * Strong attention to detail, self-motivated and a positive team player * Fluent in Afrikaans and English (written and spoken) BENEFICIAL * Experience with Draftworx, Syft, Xero Practice Manager and SimplePay * Experience building automations, prompts, Claude Projects or skills WHAT WE OFFER * Market-related salary based on experience * A key role in shaping how a forward-thinking practice uses technology * A supportive, positive team environment The position is office based in Potchefstroom, and the candidate should reside in Potchefstroom.
