Read our Helius Manifesto to see how we work and what we value. About the Role We’re hiring a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead Core Product and Platform Engineering—the backbone of Helius. Your teams power our low-latency RPC APIs, data streams, and Solana validators. These performance-critical systems must adhere to extremely high standards for availability, latency, and reliability. The surface area is large, the expectations are high, and the impact is immediate. You’ll drive technical direction across some of the most demanding systems in the Solana ecosystem. You’ll coach senior engineers and managers, shape engineering culture, and partner directly with founders on strategy. This role calls for someone with a deeply technical background, who transitioned to engineering leadership in search of broadening their impact. You must operate with high agency, bring clarity to complex problems, and guide teams through fast-paced, high-stakes execution. It’s ideal for someone on a path toward VP Eng who wants real scope and responsibility. FalconX is hiring a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our Custody and Staking engineering team, a core part of our Prime Brokerage platform. In this role, you will be deeply involved in the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and reliable blockchain infrastructure supporting multiple chains and protocols. You will work side-by-side with engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship, while helping the team deliver high-quality systems that directly impact the business. This is a technical-first role where your contributions—both as a builder and as a leader—will be critical to the success of our custody products and the broader vision of an open financial system. Responsibilities • Lead and mentor a small, high-caliber engineering team, setting and maintaining very high engineering standards and accountability. • Actively contribute to the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and reliable custody and staking infrastructure. • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to prioritize initiatives, treating customer pain points and urgent issues as top priority. • Drive architectural decisions, promote best practices, and ensure systems meet high standards for reliability, security, and performance. • Personally tackle complex, high-impact technical projects that require deep problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration. • Work closely with team members on coding, code reviews, and problem-solving to ensure fast, thoughtful, and high-quality delivery. • Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, and operational excellence across the team. • Rapidly iterate to support new blockchain features and protocols while maintaining stability and scalability. • Troubleshoot critical technical issues and lead decision-making that directly impacts business outcomes and customer experience. Preferred Qualifications • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management role. • Strong technical background with hands-on experience building scalable, secure backend systems. • Proven ability to drive engineering excellence and accountability within a team. • Experience leading small, high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment. • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, TypeScript, or Go • Experience designing and operating distributed systems, microservices, or high-availability infrastructure. • Familiarity with digital asset custody, wallets, or blockchain infrastructure is a plus, but not required. • Ability to prioritize customer-facing issues, treat critical problems as P0, and deliver reliable solutions quickly. • Track record of tackling complex technical challenges with ownership and excellence. • Strong problem-solving skills, balancing hands-on coding with leadership and strategic decision-making. The base pay for this role is expected to be between $213,000 and $288,000 in the New York City and San Francisco Bay Area. This expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role will also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance linked bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for a successful candidate will be determined based on a number of factors such as location, skillset, experience, qualifications and the level at which the candidate is hired.
