As the Business Development Manager – Automation, you will be responsible for executing and leading the go‑to‑market strategy for our Automation and Feeding solutions. Reporting directly to the VP of Key Accounts and Products, you will serve as the primary driver of revenue growth across these two critical focus areas, helping our team of sales people to close on their opportunities. Your work will directly shape how we expand our presence in the automation market, strengthen customer partnerships, and position Atlas Copco as the preferred provider for advanced automation solutions. This role goes beyond sales execution. You will play a key part in shaping the future of our business, contributing to the long‑term vision, influencing strategic direction, and helping determine where and how we grow these product lines. Your insights from the field will guide our roadmap, ensuring we stay ahead of customer needs and industry trends. Success in this position requires a blend of strategic leadership, technical understanding of automation technologies, and strong commercial acumen. You will collaborate cross‑functionally with product management, engineering, marketing, and regional sales teams to align business objectives with customer challenges, while serving as a trusted advisor to both internal stakeholders and external partners. Here’s how you’ll make an impact: Develop and execute the business development strategy for automated solutions, aligned with company goals. Assist our sales team to close opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders at all levels—from shop floor operations to C-suite executives. Serve as the subject matter expert for automation technologies, translating complex solutions into clear customer value propositions. Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to refine sales strategies. Represent Atlas Copco at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings to strengthen brand presence. To succeed, you will need ----------------------------- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent. Proven experience in feeding, industrial automation, or manufacturing equipment. Strong business development and sales track record, with demonstrated success closing complex deals. Value-based selling approach with the ability to tailor messaging to both technical and executive audiences. Entrepreneurial mindset—comfortable with autonomy, accountability, and driving results in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to continuously learn and deepen expertise in machine vision and visual inspection technologies. Ability to travel as needed to support customers, attend events, and build market presence. 40-50% to be expected. Job Description This role is responsible for supporting the delivery, integration, and optimization of mechanically attached fastener systems within a manufacturing and body shop environment. The position works cross-functionally to ensure equipment, processes, and suppliers meet quality, timing, and performance expectations throughout execution and launch phases. Key Responsibilities Ensure line integrators and mechanically attached fastener equipment suppliers deliver systems that meet company specifications across the North America region Participate in throughput analysis and process optimization activities Collaborate closely with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, material suppliers, equipment suppliers, and system integrators Support teams in meeting vehicle program timelines while maintaining quality standards Manage and maintain tracking documents to support program timing and deliverables Support problem resolution between Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Plant Manufacturing Operations Ensure product and equipment conformance to design requirements Provide onsite support during program execution and launch phases Provide feedback and status updates to leadership as needed Support integration, startup, and debugging of mechanically attached fastener equipment on the plant floor Coordinate business process improvement and re-engineering initiatives Report system status and performance at operating units as required Optimize mechanically attached fastener systems to improve productivity, cost efficiency, and quality Work with engineers, skilled trades, and management to execute cross-functional projects, including cost and timing estimates Support plant product program launches Maintain a deep understanding of body shop mechanically attached fastener technologies and applications Implement and support common mechanically attached fastener and inspection systems Develop and maintain mechanically attached fastener technology standards Provide technical direction and guidance to suppliers and internal plant teams Conduct mechanically attached fastener equipment buyoffs Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 years of mechanically attached fastener–related experience, or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent industry experience Experience supporting body shop launches and working in a plant or manufacturing environment Knowledge of safe operating procedures within a manufacturing setting Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical issues Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities * Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
