Job Description As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will join our Loughborough team to develop and implement embedded software for advanced test and control systems. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to model, simulate, and deliver embedded software solutions that drive reliable and efficient test execution. • Location: Loughborough • On Site: Yes • Clearance: None • Experience Level: Mid-Level Key Responsibilities: • Develop, implement, and maintain embedded software using Embedded C for test and control systems. • Model, simulate, and validate system behaviour using MATLAB/Simulink to support embedded software design. • Collaborate with hardware and test teams to integrate embedded software with system-level architectures. • Produce clear and detailed software documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and validation reports. • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise embedded code to ensure reliable system performance. • Support continuous improvement in embedded software processes, coding standards, and simulation methodologies. • Ensure software aligns with project requirements, timelines, and quality standards. Qualifications Required Skills: • Strong experience in embedded software development using Embedded C. • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and simulation of embedded systems. • Proven ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary engineering teams. • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills. • Experience producing high-quality technical documentation. Required Qualifications: • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience. Desirable Skills: • Exposure to real-time systems or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing. • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or energy systems embedded software. • Knowledge of software lifecycle processes for embedded systems. • Familiarity with communication protocols, data acquisition, or control systems.
