Summary: Managerial position responsible for planning on site jobs, scheduling and estimating for general electrical projects, participate on engineering projects from original concept to completion with occupational safety, cost and time control and assure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: Manages the field supervisors and coordinates assignment of field personnel to projects. Develops project schedules and executes according to plan for assigned projects. Provide constructability, schedule and logistics on self-perform trades. Generates leads and maintain viable long term relationships with customers. Interacts with clients and provides exceptional customer service that exceeds expectations. Performs associated cost estimates, prepares proposals and negotiates final settlement price and customer acceptance. Reviews and interprets contract Terms and Conditions. Attend projects meeting. Provide with feedback on alternative systems/materials that would achieve same design intent as proposed design. Evaluates the contractual scope of work and the impact of client issued bulletins, field directives and / or scheduling changes. Following established safety rules and regulations, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. In conjunction with Safety Director, ensures the safety training, plans and equipment are provided to field personnel. Responsible for execution of self-perform project safety plan, schedule, workmanship quality, project cost, payment process. Maintains profitability goals and positive cash flow. Able to manage multiple projects at the same time. Performs overall management, leadership and functions associated with self-perform team members. Responsible for the hiring, motivating, coaching, developing, appraising, rewarding and discipline all levels of subordinates. Requirements: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, BS degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering is a plus. A minimum of 5 years’ direct project management experience in the Electrical and Solar Photovoltaic Construction Industry. Budgeting and Planning. Judgment and decision making. Complex Problem Solving. Coordination, time management, and multi-tasking. Management experience with projects related to Electrical and Solar Photovoltaic particularly with government – state/federal project and prevailing wages. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience. Proficient in the following computer software systems: Microsoft Office Products, particularly Word, Excel and Power Point. A current valid driver’s license. Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as the ability to complete a company specific safety orientation (OSHA 30 HRS is a plus) Able to travel to/from job sites on a regular basis. This role is responsible for managing and leading the project team throughout the duration of the assigned project(s). What You Will Do: As Electrical Project Manager, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Assesses and maintains client relationships to understand construction leadership needs, facility maintenance needs, and other business needs that may have project implications from the beginning of the contract through the project warranty period. Coordinates development and delivery of project planning services (e.g., estimating, scheduling, value engineering, reporting) with the project planning leader. Conducts estimates for self-performed scopes of work as required. Establishes and clarifies project-specific goals related to schedule, safety, accounting, labor relations, EEO, and data processing/reporting. Manages client relations, including but not limited to clarifying quality standards, expectations, and priorities as presented in the design documents, demonstrated in mock-ups, and expressed through punch list evaluations of work-in-place. Oversees timely and accurate processing of all project information documents relating to the contract, bulletins, field work orders, and change orders, and require formal authorization prior to proceeding in the field. Compares assessment of client needs to contractual obligations and delivery of project professional management services by the Christman Mid-Atlantic team and all contracted trades, vendors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure that proper service is provided to the client. Defines project goals and priorities that establish resource allocation conditions. Determines project staffing requirements necessary to successfully accomplish project, develops project staffing plan, and establishes work plan and schedules for each project phase. Establishes subcontract agreements and work scopes for all trade contractors and communicates expectations and responsibilities related to project planning, coordination with other trades, safety, and proactive definition of work quality. Clarifies expectations and performance requirements in both written project documents and through presentations and discussions at pre-bid conferences, post-bid meetings, pre-installation meetings, and other interactions. Executes contractual risk protections by determining Builder's Risk Insurance approach for the project (Owner or Christman provided) and ensures required coverage amounts and dates. Creates positive safety culture by understanding interface of construction activities and schedule with client's existing operations and occupancy. Coordinates team leadership, emphasizing safety as the top priority on the project requiring constant attention of all workers to eliminating and mitigating hazardous conditions on the site and preventing hazardous actions. Models safety awareness and planning at all times. Observes safety practices on site and promptly address any unsafe situations or behaviors, reporting violations and coordinating corrective actions to the project. Coordinates information access and sharing across project team members to keep all team members informed of current project status. Compiles and analyzes project financial information and expenditures to evaluate effective use of available funds over the course of the project, and prepare formal evaluations internally and externally every month. Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory agencies with jurisdiction over projects. What You Will Bring to the Team: Required experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or other relevant course work. Six (6) or more years of work experience in construction or related job field. Intermediate computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. -or- Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience. Job Summary: The Procurement Assistant Project Manager at Miller Electric supports the Project Manager in coordinating all aspects of electrical construction projects, with a significant emphasis on procurement and material management. This role ensures materials are sourced, purchased, and delivered accurately and on time to keep projects running efficiently. The APM works closely with field teams, vendors, and internal departments to maintain schedules, control costs, and support successful project execution. Essential Duties \& Responsibilities: Assist with planning, organizing, and managing day-to-day project activities to support on-time and on-budget delivery. Lead procurement-related tasks, including gathering material needs, issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and resolving material delays. Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, and Prefabrication to confirm material specifications and ensure timely availability of equipment and supplies. Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, clarify lead times, and follow up on outstanding orders. Maintain and update procurement logs, delivery schedules, submittal status, and other project documentation. Support submittal preparation and approval processes, ensuring materials align with project plans and specifications. Monitor material costs and assist in tracking project budgets, change orders, and cost projections. Assist with project scheduling, meeting minutes, document control, and coordination between internal stakeholders. Help identify procurement risks or supply chain issues and proactively coordinate solutions. Support project closeout by collecting required documentation, warranties, O\&M manuals, and final procurement records. Qualifications: Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree (i.e. Construction Management, Finance/Business or Electrical Engineering), Journeymen License or Master Electrician 1–3 years of experience in construction project coordination, procurement, or related field (electrical contracting preferred). Procurement experience and must understand billing and collections Good knowledge of how to read electrical drawings Strong understanding of electrical materials, equipment, and vendor networks is a plus. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail. Ability to communicate clearly with project teams, vendors, and field personnel. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction management software preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
