Digital Data Analyst

Hype DigitalCity of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

From $202/yr

Hype Digital is now Hype Labs, the agentic growth team with recursive learning built in. We're still a conversion agency. Our paid media, CRO and analytics teams work together to turn traffic into revenue for brands across e-commerce, iGaming, lead gen, SaaS and B2B. What's changed is how we work. AI agents now run across every client's funnel, auditing tracking, analysing performance and flagging issues around the clock. A specialist reviews and approves every output, and the system learns from each decision. We're looking for a Digital Data Analyst to own our analytics projects end to end. You'll run the client relationship, scope the work, get hands-on when tracking breaks and make sure everything that reaches a client is accurate. The role sits between strategy and execution, and you'll need to be comfortable in both. A note on AI: we're now fully agentic. If you already use AI tools and agents in your analytics work, whether that's building workflows, automating audits or writing prompts and playbooks, you'll be top of our list. A note on location: the role is currently remote, but we're looking for someone based in Cape Town full time. We meet in person for weekly team sessions and are moving to a hybrid office next year. WHAT YOU'LL OWN Client and project leadership • Owning a portfolio of analytics clients and running client meetings end to end: onboarding, to handover - as well as work with the retention manager on upsells and retention • Diagnosing the real business problem (leaky funnels, unclear attribution, unreliable revenue tracking, disconnected data) and scoping the solution • Project managing tracking implementations, dashboard builds and ad hoc analysis from brief to sign-off • Keeping clients updated on progress, timelines and next steps • Reviewing every report, dashboard and data output before it goes out • Turning data into commercial insight and proactive recommendations Hands-on technical delivery • GA4 and GTM implementation, auditing and debugging, web and server-side • Conversion tracking across Google Ads, Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn • E-commerce tracking on Shopify and Magento, giving our CRO team clean, reliable event data • Experimentation tracking, including Convert and Segment integrations • SQL, BigQuery, Looker and Looker Studio for reporting and dashboards • ETL pipelines and the cloud infrastructure behind client reporting • Documenting every setup so it scales and doesn't rely on one person's knowledge Working with our agents • Directing and reviewing the output of our analytics agents, including GA4 and GTM audits, performance analysis and tracking health checks • Improving the playbooks and prompts our agents run on, so they get sharper with every project • Spotting new parts of the analytics workflow we can automate Team • Supporting QA, training and adoption with stakeholders on the client and internal side • Reporting directly to the Analytics Client Director WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • Based in Cape Town and available for weekly in-person team sessions, as well as in-person client calls • 5+ years in an analytics, data or digital agency environment • Strong hands-on GA4 and GTM experience, including server-side and JavaScript • Proven conversion tracking experience across the major ad platforms • Solid SQL skills and experience with BigQuery and Looker Studio • Working knowledge of the wider data stack, such as Mixpanel, Snowflake, Looker, Power BI, dbt, Fivetran and Stripe. You know what each does and where it fits in a client's stack • Real client-facing experience. You've run relationships and projects, not just sat in on calls • Comfortable explaining technical tracking and data concepts in commercial terms • Highly organised, with sharp attention to detail. Reports go out right or they don't go out • Practical, everyday use of AI in your work (Claude, ChatGPT, agents, automations, MCPs) • Shopify, Magento and experience across iGaming, lead gen, SaaS or B2B are a plus WHAT WE OFFER • A small, sharp team working at the front of agentic delivery • Real ownership of client relationships, projects and technical standards • Direct line to leadership, no layers of bureaucracy • Remote for now, with weekly in-person sessions and a hybrid Cape Town office from 2027 • Competitive salary When you apply, include a short note on how you use AI in your analytics work. Show us something you've built.
