What You'll Be Doing: ------------------------- The Athletic Trainer will be a member of the Purdue Sports Medicine Department working under the supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Performance and Sports Medicine and team physicians to deliver athletic health care for ‎intercollegiate athletes and athletic teams, mainly Football. Additional duties will include but are not limited to: + Provide service care given of emergency needs of student-athletes. + Provide immediate Rx rehabilitation for patients. + Provide supervision of returning student-athlete to athletic activity. + Provide appropriate documentation of care. Serve as the primary rehabilitation coordinator, fostering seamless communication and integration among all members of the sports medicine and performance team. Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced athletic training staff, promoting best practices in rehabilitation and injury management. Lead collaborative case reviews utilizing advanced clinical reasoning to establish holistic and innovative return-to-play strategies. Supervise athletic training curriculum students as assigned. Maintain appropriate medical records for student-athletes health care. Execute administrative duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Performance and Sports Medicine. Address other related health care problems as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Performance and Sports Medicine and/or supervising team physician. Skills needed: NATA-BOC certification and ability to obtain Indiana Athletic Training License, Indiana Physical Therapy License if employee has Physical Therapy Degree. Req Id: 39187 Job Title: Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor City: West Lafayette ### Job Summary The Department of Health \& Kinesiology at Purdue University seeks applicants for an academic-year (9-month) clinical faculty (non-tenure track) position (Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor) with a focus in clinical exercise physiology beginning August 17, 2026. The successful candidate will teach in the Clinical Exercise Physiology (CEXP) graduate program and the BS in Kinesiology program. An ability to contribute to our Health and Wellness Coaching specialization is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will work with program and department leadership to develop and implement the CEXP concentration within our MS in Health and Kinesiology degree. In addition, the candidate will contribute to program accreditation. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative team at a leading public institution. Education ------------- Applicants must hold a master’s or doctoral (preferred but not required) degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology or a related field (e.g. Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Health and Human Performance) by the time of employment and provide evidence of teaching experience. Experience -------------- Applicants must have experience in applied exercise physiology and/or clinical exercise physiology.
