Electrician
Duties \& Responsibilities: . Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, circuits, and fixtures in accordance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards. · Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute electrical installations and repairs accurately. · Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify defects, faults, or malfunctions, and diagnose issues using testing equipment and tools. · Troubleshoot electrical problems, such as power outages, short circuits, and voltage fluctuations, and implement corrective actions to restore functionality. · Install and configure electrical systems and equipment, such as lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, circuit breakers, and electrical panels, following manufacturer specifications and guidelines. · Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting electrical components and systems, to prevent breakdowns and ensure reliability. · Test electrical systems and components for proper operation, voltage, current, and resistance, using multimeters, voltage testers, and other diagnostic tools. · Collaborate with other tradespeople, contractors, and project managers to coordinate electrical work and ensure integration with other building systems and construction activities. · Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, codes, and standards, including National Electrical Code (NEC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, and local building codes. · Install and maintain grounding systems, surge protectors, and electrical safety devices to protect against electrical hazards, shocks, and fires. · Provide technical guidance and support to apprentices, helpers, or junior electricians, mentoring them in proper electrical techniques, practices, and safety procedures. · Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports, documenting repairs, modifications, and upgrades. · Keep abreast of advancements in electrical technology, equipment, and regulations, participating in training programs, seminars, and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge. · Respond to emergency service calls, power outages, or electrical emergencies promptly, troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions to minimize downtime and disruptions. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following proper procedures for handling tools, equipment, and hazardous materials, and always adhering to safety protocols.
