Pretoria, GP, ZAFrom $198/yr

Company Description Take your medical expertise beyond the traditional clinical setting with an international assignment on Diego Garcia, where you'll deliver primary, occupational, and urgent medical care in a remote island healthcare environment. At International SOS Government Medical Services, you'll support healthcare programs that improve patient care and operational readiness across the U.S. and internationally. Founded in 1984, International SOS operates in more than 90 countries, delivering healthcare, medical assistance, emergency response, and workforce support services worldwide. Job Description You will assess and treat acute illness and injury, manage chronic conditions within available capabilities, and support the health of personnel through occupational medical examinations and preventive services. The practice includes medical screening, diagnostic testing, fitness-for-duty evaluations, and coordinated stabilization or transfer when specialty or higher-level care is needed. You will work alongside nurses, emergency medical personnel, and other clinicians while following the established scope of practice and medical authority requirements. The patient population includes personnel receiving initial and periodic medical assessments as well as those presenting with routine or urgent health concerns. Your practice will touch occupational screening, work restrictions, medical clearance documentation, and coordination of laboratory testing. You will also support prevention through immunizations, health education, and identification of potential communicable-disease concerns. If a patient requires a service not available at the facility, you will help determine the next clinical step and coordinate the relevant consultation, referral, or medical evacuation. Accurate clinical records and collaboration with authorized medical authorities support continuity across each of these activities. You will practice broad-scope clinical medicine where thoughtful decision-making and continuity across routine, occupational, and urgent care are all part of the work. Qualifications Requirements * A medical degree (e.g., MD, DO, MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent) awarded by a recognized or accredited medical institution in any country or jurisdiction; qualifications must meet applicable medical credentialing requirements and are subject to qualification approval. * Completion of appropriate postgraduate medical training and any specialty credentialing needed for the authorized scope of clinical practice. * Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. * Ability to relocate to Navy Support Facility Diego Garcia for the duration of the assignment and meet applicable site access and personnel approval requirements. * Availability for established clinic hours, assigned on-call arrangements and emergency response requirements; ability to read, write, and speak English for effective communication. * Ability to work seated or standing for prolonged periods, with bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 lbs as required.
