Pricing Analyst

Pricing Analyst Reports To: CFO FLSA Status: Exempt Summary: The Pricing Analyst will play a critical role in optimizing our pricing strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining market competitiveness. This position involves analyzing market trends, competitor pricing, cost structures, and sales data specific to the outdoor power equipment industry. The ideal candidate is data-driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about turning insights into actionable pricing recommendations. Job Role/ Responsibilities: Conduct in-depth analysis of pricing data, including historical sales, cost of goods, and market fluctuations in outdoor power equipment categories Monitor competitor pricing strategies through market research and industry reports to identify opportunities for price adjustments. Develop and maintain pricing models using tools like Excel, SQL, or specialized software to forecast the impact of pricing changes on revenue and margins. Collaborate with sales, procurement, and marketing teams to align pricing with promotional campaigns, seasonal demands, and inventory levels. Evaluate supplier costs and negotiate pricing terms to ensure cost-effectiveness in distribution channels. Generate regular reports and dashboards on pricing performance, highlighting key metrics such as gross margin, price elasticity, and competitive positioning. Support the implementation of dynamic pricing strategies, including discounts, bundling, and regional variations based on market conditions. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors affecting pricing. Assist in pricing audits and compliance to ensure adherence to company policies and legal requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Pricing Professional) is a plus. 2-4 years of experience in pricing analysis, market research, or financial analysis, preferably in distribution, manufacturing, or retail sectors. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables), SQL, Tableau, or Power BI. Strong understanding of pricing principles, including cost-plus, value-based, and competitive pricing models. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets. Effective communication skills to present findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Preferred Skills Familiarity with ERP systems and pricing software; experience in Microsoft Dynamics is a plus Knowledge of outdoor power equipment market dynamics. Experience with statistical analysis or econometric modeling. Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset for identifying pricing opportunities.
