Athletic Trainer Needed for Private Practice Clinic Position

Anchorage, AK, US

Position Overview: A private out-patient clinic, with it’s primary location in Anchorage, Alaska. Coastal also has satellite clinics in Wasilla and Fairbanks. Our team of Board Certified Providers are dedicated to providing comprehensive and individualized medical care to both adult and pediatric patients across the great state of Alaska. Dr. Christine Woods is a specialist in sports related neurology, traumatic brain injury and headache medicine,and she is seeking a dedicated Athletic Trainer for clinical support to join our practice. This dual-role position involves providing comprehensive support in both athletic training capacity and medical assistance, ensuring high-quality comprehensive care for our patients. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients with sports-related injuries and headaches, including SCAT6, SCOAT6, and SWAY software (will provide training on administration of these as needed) - patient rooming - including taking medical histories, reviewing current medications and taking vital signs, and documenting in the electronic medical record system - aiding in out patient referral care coordination for neurology patients and post concussion care - Develop and implement rehabilitation programs tailored to individual patient needs - Provide patient education on injury prevention and recovery strategies, including customized home rehabilitation activities to support recovery and return to sports - patient call backs for results and treatment plan updates - Support the physician during examinations and procedures when needed - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation each visit - Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to support patient care Qualifications: - Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) from a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) - accredited program - Strong understanding of sports medicine, concussion assessment and up to date protocols preferred - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults with and without disabilities - Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and integrity If you have additional experience in these areas, these are helpful but not a requirement for application: - Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems - Experience in a clinical or outpatient practice setting - Experience with SWAY software - Experience or background education in the neurosciences Benefits: - Competitive salary commensurate with experience. - Comprehensive health benefits package: \\ - Opportunities for professional development and continuing education. - Supportive, fun and dynamic work environment.
