Associate Director, Pricing & Contracting Strategy - Nephrology

About This Role The Associate Director of Nephrology Pricing \& Contracting Strategy will be responsible for developing the pricing and contracting strategy for Biogen’s nephrology product portfolio and will report to the Head of Nephrology Access Strategy within the US Market Access \& Reimbursement (MA\&R) team. This individual will lead development of pricing and contracting strategy across all payer channels (i.e., Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial) to support a successful launch of Biogen’s nephrology asset, which will span several different indications within the nephrology space. In addition to driving US launch pricing and contracting strategy, this individual will also build out innovative contracting solutions for various Provider types, Payer channels and GPOs to achieve patient access. Experience with buy-and-bill, Part B/Medical products will be critical, and a foundational knowledge of product ASP and government pricing dynamics is also required. You'll work cross-functionally to ensure organizational alignment. This includes collaboration with the Insights \& Analytics team to undertake market research, field colleagues to develop business cases for regional and national payer accounts, Finance to align on core financial modeling assumptions, and Brand teams to align on and pull-through contracting objectives. What You’ll Do Develop payer and provider contracting strategies to facilitate patient access for Biogen’s nephrology products Develop launch product pricing strategy for Biogen’s nephrology asset (across multiple indications) Develop models to evaluate the impact of potential pricing \& contracting approaches on key stakeholders across all channels Independently manage projects from start to finish Work cross-functionally within the US Organization to align on US market access approach across products. Partner with Global Value \& Access as well as Public Policy \& Government Affairs (PPGA) to align on assumptions and strategy development. Serve as a subject matter expert on contracting approaches across nephrology products Present recommendations to senior leadership for approval Who You Are The ideal candidate is a critical thinker and self-starter who is willing and able to clearly and concisely communicate complex contracting topics. You value cross-functional partnership and is capable of prioritizing multiple tasks to meet individual and team goals. Required Skills Education: BA/BS Required; master's or higher preferred 7+ years prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a consulting firm with roles focused on contracting, pricing, or market access Ability to develop and communicate brand-specific pricing/contracting strategy informed by primary and secondary research and aligned with overall business and organizational objectives Knowledge of US government pricing dynamics (Medicaid, 340B, Medicare Parts B \& D) Understanding of Buy \& Bill and discounting dynamics Experience with conducting primary payer and provider market research Experience with online survey tools and syndicated data sources Excellent analytic, strategic, and critical thinking skills with ability to translate data into strategy Highly motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to develop and deliver clear, compelling presentations on complex pricing topics to senior leadership Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional and cross-team ties to influence colleagues Job Level: Management Additional Information The base compensation range for this role is: $168,000.00-$231,000.00 Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills \& experience, job location, and internal equity. About This Role As a Principal Clinical Data Reviewer/Scientist, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the integrity, scientific rigor, and strategic value of clinical trial data across all phases of development. Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Pharmacovigilance, and Study Operations, to drive data‑driven decision‑making and ensure high-quality trial execution. Contribute to risk management by identifying, documenting, and supporting mitigation of study‑level data risks. Robust experience with Medidata Rave and use of Data Review tools such as eClinical Elluminate, J-Review, or Business Objects required High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities Experience supporting audits/inspections Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to work under pressure demonstrating agility through effective and innovative team leadership Deep understanding of drug development and biopharmaceutical industry required Strong technical skills, including experience working with using Microsoft Excel functionality Fluent English (oral and written) Hands‑on experience reviewing eCRF data, external data sources (e.g., labs, imaging, biomarkers, digital health), and integrated clinical datasets. Demonstrated ability to identify data trends, signals, outliers, and risk indicators using listings, visualizations, metrics, and analytics tools. Experience with CDISC standards (SDTM, ADaM) and familiarity with clinical analytic tools (visualization platforms). Strong knowledge of GCP, ICH E6(R2)/E6(R3), regulatory expectations, and industry data quality best practices.
