Actual pay rate dependent upon experience. $24.00 - $36.50 Position Highlights PRN - Work on an as needed basis. A Brief Overview Provides athletic training services per contract to schools, organizations, and events. Athletic trainer will provide injury assessment, treatment, first aid, prevention, and reconditioning services as assigned and set forth by the Board of Certification (BOC). What you will do Provide athletic training services for assigned sporting events, practices, and all other contracted school needs. Collaborate with high schools, universities, and professional sport organizations to assist coaches and medical personnel with assessment, treatment, and referral recommendations regarding injured athletes. Assist contract school in identifying equipment and supplies required for athletic training activities. Participate in sports medicine education and meetings as needed. Assists with record keeping and statistics pertaining to athlete injuries. Oversee staff assigned to school’s training room according to contracted schools scope of services. Supervision, education, and recruitment of student assistant athletic trainers. Assist with coordination and delivery of contracted schools pre-participation physicals and concussion testing. Promote Avera Sports physicians, programs, and services within and outside the Avera network. Provide general public educational sessions as assigned. A Brief Overview Provides members with an individual training program that is tailored to the needs, wants and desires of each client; based on their health history, test results and fitness goals. What you will do Leads one-on-one, partner and small group training sessions to members and guests of all fitness levels. Trains within standard guidelines of specialty certifications. Establishes and appropriately progress client training programs, taking their medical history and conditions into consideration for a safe and effective approach to exercise. Presents both staff and member training sessions on a rotating basis with new material or a review of current literature and trends. Promotes and contributes to the growth of the overall training program through consistent, goal-directed contact of members and potential referral sources such as member clinical and physician contacts. Participates in department meetings and training sessions and work toward meeting departmental and organizational goals. Proficient in all core business software as it relates to scheduling, editing or cancelling appointments. Demonstrates complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures to maintain a safe patient environment. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience: ACE Certified Personal Trainer (ACE-CPT) - American Council on Exercise (ACE) within 1 Year or ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP) - American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) within 1 Year or ACSM Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM-CPT) - American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) within 1 Year or ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP) - American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) within 1 Year or Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach - National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) within 1 Year or NASM Certified Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT) - National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) within 1 Year or Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience: Bachelor's Concentration in a health-related, exercise science, kinesiology or physical education Master's 1-3 years Work experience or internship in the health and fitness industry, preferable in a medically oriented specialty such as: athletic training, cardiac rehabilitation, dietetics or physical therapy.
