We have been a full-service, small animal hospital located just outside of historic downtown Palm Harbor for over 30+ years that strives to provide state-of-the-art technology and progressive medicine. We are now proud to offer an innovative specialty center for pain management, rehabilitation, and regenerative medicine to our community as well. We are equipped with a revolutionary rehabilitation gym, hydrotherapy, neurology-based acupuncture, kinesitherapy, advanced pharmaceutical pain management therapies, and sports medicine and conditioning. We are the only veterinary practice in Pinellas County to provide such a vast array of modalities under one roof to our clients and patients. Aside from our pain management and rehabilitation certifications, we have also been a certified Fear-Free practice, and certified as a Feline Friendly Practice, for over ten years. We are energized with a new associate veterinarian who also loves treating our exotic patients in the area! Every day is definitely filled with a diverse caseload here at Country Oaks Animal Hospital. We are seeking an attentive veterinary assistant to work for our ever-growing practice. . The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the desire to learn strong skills across all aspects of veterinary technician duties and have an average working knowledge of small animal health, supported by professional communication skills, a robust work ethic, a desire to learn, and a team mentality. We want to give our team members every opportunity to grow, develop their skills, and offer continual encouragement and training to enhance their position within the industry. Our goal is to allow each individual to expand their skills and knowledge to best utilize their individual assets, achieve greater job satisfaction, and create a healthy work-life balance. Veterinary nursing and pre-veterinary students encouraged to apply; an interest in client education, exotic animal medicine, and canine rehabilitation is a plus! A few of the daily job duties include, but are not limited to: \ Restraint and assisting during common evaluations and procedures \ Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms \ Assist our veterinary technicians in performing surgery or dentistry \ Laboratory procedures including preparing hematology, cytology, urinalysis, and fecal cytology for technicians \ Phlebotomy (especially geriatric and pediatric patients) and indwelling catheter placement \ Diagnostic imaging (digital radiography, ultrasound guided sampling, and dental radiology) \ Obtain vitals and administer medications parenterally Full time benefits include paid time-off (sick, vacation, and holiday), quarterly profit sharing, IRA + employer matching dividend, HRA, employer-paid pet health insurance premiums, tuition reimbursement, and paid CE.
