Accounts Manager Role Summary The Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, taxation, and budgeting. The role ensures accurate financial records, timely statutory filings, efficient cash flow management, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations while supporting management with financial insights for decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Financial Accounting * Maintain accurate books of accounts in accordance with accounting principles. * Oversee day-to-day accounting transactions and ledger management. * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. * Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities. Accounts Payable \& Receivable * Monitor vendor payments and customer collections. * Verify invoices, payment vouchers, and supporting documents. * Reconcile customer and vendor accounts regularly. * Manage outstanding receivables and payment schedules. Taxation \& Statutory Compliance * Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory returns. * Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities. * Maintain compliance with Companies Act and other applicable laws. * Handle statutory audits and internal audits. Payroll \& Banking * Verify payroll processing and salary disbursement. * Manage banking transactions, fund transfers, and reconciliations. * Monitor cash flow and maintain adequate working capital. Budgeting \& MIS * Prepare annual budgets and monitor departmental expenditures. * Generate MIS reports for management review. * Analyze financial performance and recommend cost-control measures. * Support management with financial planning and forecasting. Coordination * Coordinate with Sales, CRM, Purchase, HR, and Project teams for financial documentation. * Ensure timely billing, collections, and vendor payments. * Assist management during financial decision-making. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) * MBA (Finance) / M.Com / CA (Inter) preferred * 6–10 years of experience in accounting and finance * Experience in the Real Estate or Construction industry is preferred. Senior Management Accounts Manager Location: Hybrid (London Head Office / Remote) Sector: Health \& Social Care Salary - 45k - 65k - Dep on experience Reporting to: Finance Director Role Purpose We are a growing care organisation seeking an experienced Senior Management Accounts Manager to play a key role within our finance leadership team. This position is responsible for overseeing the production of accurate and timely management accounts, supporting the Finance Director with month-end close and reconciliations, and working closely with operational and home management teams. The role will provide commercial insight, challenge, and support to help drive strong financial performance across the business. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear commentary. Support the Finance Director with month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial controls. Partner with care home management teams to support understanding of their trading P\&Ls. Respond to financial queries from operational teams, providing clear explanations and timely resolutions. Provide commercial insight and advice to help home managers improve occupancy, control costs, and drive profitability. Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities. Analyse KPI’s and ability to pick up trends and investigate differences. Cash flow reporting and analysis Assist with bank covenant submissions Support the annual budgeting and reforecasting process in collaboration with operational leaders. Ensure robust cost control and challenge spend where appropriate while maintaining quality of care. Develop and improve management reporting to support decision-making across the organisation. Act as a key finance business partner to regional and central operational teams. Support audit processes and ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements. Contribute to the development of the finance function as the organisation continues to grow. Experience \& Knowledge Significant experience in a management accounting role, ideally within the care, healthcare, or wider social care sector. Strong understanding of care home trading P\&Ls, including occupancy, fee income, agency usage, and cost drivers. Experience partnering with non-financial managers and supporting operational decision-making. Experience in a multi-site or growing organisation is highly desirable. Previous responsibility for month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations. Skills \& Competencies Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. Logical thinker and ability to question and investigate issues. Strong communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with commissioners and internal stakeholders. Good organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities. Proactive and solution-focused approach. Strong Excel skills and ability to work on various accounting and CRM platforms. Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment while remaining a strong team player. Qualifications Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
