About the role
Environmental Engineer – Refinery Compliance \& Emissions Make an impact in industrial environmental compliance! PROtect LLC is seeking a hands\-on Environmental Engineer to help shape and lead environmental programs at refinery operations. This role combines field\-based training, regulatory compliance expertise, and process improvement opportunities to deliver world\-class emissions and compliance programs. **Location:** This role is based in Norco, LA. Why You’ll Love This Role * Work directly with experienced field teams to implement industry\-leading environmental programs * Develop expertise in LDAR (Leak Detection \& Repair), BWON (Benzene Waste Operations), greenhouse gas emissions tracking, and Clean Air Act compliance * Gain exposure to regulatory inspections, audits, and process improvement initiatives * Professional development opportunities and hands\-on training in the first 6 months * Competitive salary with room for growth in a dynamic industrial environment Key Responsibilities * Develop, implement, and improve refinery environmental compliance programs * Perform emission calculations and prepare supporting documentation for permits and regulatory reporting * Interpret P\&IDs to monitor and evaluate refinery process equipment * Collect and maintain environmental data records for compliance tracking * Lead or support regulatory inspections, audits, and enforcement activities * Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies to resolve compliance issues * Identify and implement opportunities for environmental process improvements * Stay up\-to\-date with emerging regulations and contribute to new rule development Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (Environmental, Chemical, Civil, or Process preferred) * 1–3 years of environmental, process, or civil engineering experience (industrial or refinery experience a plus) * Knowledge of LDAR, BWON, emissions monitoring, and Clean Air Act regulations * Ability to read and interpret P\&IDs * Strong analytical, problem\-solving, and technical skills * Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities * TWIC card or ability to obtain one Preferred Skills * Industrial experience in a refinery or chemical plant setting * Experience with environmental audits and agency inspections * Public speaking and presentation skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder engagement Physical \& Travel Requirements * Stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs, ascend heights up to 300 ft * Travel: \< 25% for the first 6 months **PROtect Perks:** * Health, Dental, Vision * HSA/FSA * HSA Company Match * 401K with up to 4% Match, 100% Vested immediately * PTO * Free Mental Health Courses and Resources * Free Financial Coaching Classes/Resources * Clear Career Advancement Opportunities * Continued Education Reimbursements * Relocation/Travel Opportunities * Referral Bonuses for top talent * Business Development Bonuses * Monthly Safety Competitions with Prizes * Annual Competitions with Prizes
