Req Id: 40592 Job Title: Athletic Trainer City: West Lafayette **Job Summary** --------------- Assist the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Performance and Sports Medicine and supervising team physicians with the delivery of athletic health care for ‎intercollegiate athletes and athletic teams. **What You'll Be Doing:** ------------------------- * The Athletic Trainer will be a member of the Purdue Sports Medicine Department working under the supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Performance and Sports Medicine and team physicians to deliver athletic health care for ‎intercollegiate athletes and athletic teams, mainly Football. Additional duties will include but are not limited to: + Provide service care given of emergency needs of student\-athletes. + Provide immediate Rx rehabilitation for patients. + Provide supervision of returning student\-athlete to athletic activity. + Provide appropriate documentation of care. * Serve as the primary rehabilitation coordinator, fostering seamless communication and integration among all members of the sports medicine and performance team. * Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced athletic training staff, promoting best practices in rehabilitation and injury management. * Lead collaborative case reviews utilizing advanced clinical reasoning to establish holistic and innovative return\-to\-play strategies. * Supervise athletic training curriculum students as assigned. * Maintain appropriate medical records for student\-athletes health care. * Execute administrative duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Performance and Sports Medicine. * Address other related health care problems as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Performance and Sports Medicine and/or supervising team physician. **About Us:** ------------- Purdue Athletics is built on unrivaled pride, unlimited potential, and a sense of shared purpose that unites staff, student\-athletes, and the broader community. Read more: Purdue Boilermakers Athletics **What We're Looking For:** --------------------------- *Education and Experience:* * Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from CAAHEP accredited athletic training education program * Four (4\) years’ experience required in Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy and/or Athletic Training Preferred five (5\) years’ experience with a proven record of accomplishment of effective collaboration within a multi\-disciplinary performance team within a collegiate, professional, or high\-performance Football setting; demonstrated expertise in rehabilitation program design and coordination, including advanced knowledge of functional return\-to\-play protocols and post\-surgical rehabilitation. * *Skills needed:* * NATA\-BOC certification and ability to obtain Indiana Athletic Training License, Indiana Physical Therapy License if employee has Physical Therapy Degree. * Must adhere to and comply with Purdue University, Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA applicable rules policies, procedures, rules and regulations‎. * MODERATE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: Lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally. **Who We Are:** --------------- *Purdue is a community built on collaboration, with global perspectives, Boilermaker pride and endless opportunity to live, learn and grow.
