Senior Engineering lead Financial Services, Web3 and AI

Role summary We’re hiring a **very senior engineering leader** to own the technical direction and delivery of PMLX’s platform: institutional financial services, tokenisation rails, custody integrations and AI‑enabled product features. This is a hands‑on role — you will design architecture, lead full‑lifecycle delivery, mentor engineers, and be the primary technical voice with GPs, custodians and regulators. Core responsibilities * **Architect and deliver** secure, scalable systems for tokenisation, custody, settlement and distribution engines. * **Lead full software lifecycle** : requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring and incident response. * **Design and implement permissioned ledger and token standards** (private chain or permissioned smart contract frameworks) and integrate with custodians and banking rails. * **Own integrations** with custodians, banks, market data vendors, and KYC/AML providers. * **Embed AI capabilities** across product (pricing models, anomaly detection, document extraction, investor reporting). * **Drive engineering best practice** : CI/CD, automated testing, secure coding, observability and SRE practices. * **Mentor and grow** a high‑performing engineering team; recruit and set technical standards. * **Collaborate with legal, compliance and product** to ensure regulatory readiness and auditability. * **Represent PMLX externally** with partners, clients and at technical/regulatory forums. Must have experience * **15\+ years** software engineering experience with at least **5 years** in senior/lead roles in financial services. * Deep, demonstrable experience with **blockchain / tokenisation** in institutional contexts (permissioned ledgers, token standards, custody integration). * Strong track record across the **entire software lifecycle** and modern engineering practices (microservices, event‑driven systems, CI/CD, automated testing). * Practical experience integrating with **banks, market data vendors and payment rails** . * Proven experience building or operating **production‑grade settlement, reconciliation or payments systems** . * Hands‑on with **AI/ML** : model integration, MLOps, or applied ML for pricing, document processing or risk detection. * Excellent security and compliance mindset (data protection, encryption, key management, audit trails). * Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills with institutional clients and regulators. Nice to have * Prior experience in **private markets, secondaries, fund administration or custody** . * Familiarity with **Jersey, UK or EU** regulatory frameworks for custody and client money. * Experience with **Rust, Go, or Solidity** and private ledger frameworks (Hyperledger, Corda, Quorum). * Background in productising AI features for institutional users.
