The Orthopaedic \& Specialty Surgery Center, a multi\-specialty ambulatory facility, was established in 2019 in partnership with a group of specialty physicians. This partnership includes Somers Orthopaedic Surgery \& Sports Medicine Group, which has provided expert diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, since 1988\. The practice operates in Carmel, Newburgh, Mount Kisco, and Fishkill, New York, as well as Danbury, Connecticut. Somers Orthopaedic Surgery \& Sports Medicine Group physicians are board\-certified and have completed extensive training at leading medical institutions across the United States. Team members specialize in all aspects of orthopaedic care, treating pain in the knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, feet, and ankles. They also diagnose and treat a comprehensive range of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions responsible for neck and back pain. The Orthopaedic \& Specialty Surgery Center, in collaboration with Somers Orthopedics, is seeking a Surgical Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA). This role provides surgical and clinical support to our orthopedic surgeons, including patient evaluation, assistance during procedures, and management of pre\- and post\-operative care to ensure optimal musculoskeletal outcomes. The primary responsibility is to assist surgeons at our outpatient surgical facility. **Responsibilities:** * Assist orthopedic surgeons in surgical procedures, including preoperative preparation and intraoperative support. * Conduct patient evaluations, take medical histories, and perform physical exams. * Order and interpret diagnostic tests (X\-rays, MRI, CT scans, labs). * Manage pre\- and postoperative care, including wound care, rehabilitation guidance, and complication monitoring. * Educate patients and families on conditions, procedures, and recovery plans. * Document patient care accurately and maintain medical records. * Collaborate with surgical and healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes. **Education \& Training** * CT/NY State licensure to practice * 2\+ years' experience in Orthopedics, preferred * BLS/ACLS \- preferred **Skills \& Abilities** * Strong verbal and written communication * Excellent attention to detail * Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and procedures * Good interpersonal skills * Critical\-thinking and problem\-solving skills * Ability to move and manipulate patients * Ability to multitask in a fast\-paced environment * Computer literacy, SIS Complete, Athena and Epic experience a plus.
