Medical Assistant (MA) Instructor – Theory

Our instructors help students achieve professional readiness and career success. **Position Summary** MCC is seeking **full\-time and substitute MA Instructors** to deliver classroom and/or clinical instruction. Instructors will teach according to approved course syllabi, evaluate student progress, maintain accurate academic and clinical records, and support student success and retention. Substitute instructors provide coverage on an as\-needed basis for theory or clinical courses. Clinical instruction must comply with California laws regarding delegation and supervision. **Key Responsibilities** * Deliver theory lectures, discussions, and hands\-on clinical instruction. * Prepare lesson plans, instructional outlines, and training schedules aligned with course objectives. * Conduct assessments (oral, written, and performance\-based) and provide constructive feedback. * Supervise labs, clinical rotations, field placements, and student projects. * Maintain accurate attendance, grade, and clinical training records. * Ensure compliance with California regulations for delegation of clinical tasks. * Substitute for other instructors as needed. * Participate in faculty meetings, in\-service trainings, orientations, graduations, open houses, and other College events. * Maintain a professional, safe, and inclusive learning environment. **Qualifications / Requirements** * Experience and/or certification in Medical Assisting or relevant healthcare field. * Minimum 2 years of MA experience and current NHA certification (or equivalent). * Current CPR certification. * For clinical instruction: supervision by a licensed clinician (MD, DO, RN, LVN, PA) **or** documented qualified MA. * Knowledge of California regulations regarding delegation of clinical tasks. * Ability to maintain accurate student and training records. * Minimum 1 year teaching experience **or** formal training in instructional methodology. * Proficiency with Google Workspace and standard office technology. * Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. **Physical Requirements** * Frequent sitting, handling objects, reading, writing, communicating, reasoning, and problem\-solving. * Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 25 lbs. * Close visual acuity for computer use, data entry, and reading. * May involve limited driving for clinical or instructional purposes.
