Business & Technical Analyst

**UNIVERSAL Technologies** is seeking 2 (two) a **Business \& Technical Analyst** for a **hybrid position** in **New York, NY** with alternating days on site to support HR Payroll systems within a public sector environment. **Active LinkedIn preferred**. This consultant will work under the direction of a project manager to analyze business needs, develop technical and functional documentation, support testing efforts, and ensure the successful operation of payroll\-related applications. Our team members collaborate with experienced professionals while contributing to system enhancements, modernization efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives. **MANDATORY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE** * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical or business discipline. * Proven experience analyzing and documenting business and technical requirements. Previous experience on enterprise level Payroll applications strongly preferred At least 6\-years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst * Experience authoring functional specifications and collaborating with business stakeholders for approval. * Experience developing technical specifications for interfaces and data conversion processes. * Ability to work closely with technical teams during design, development, and implementation phases. * Experience troubleshooting software issues and resolving defects reported by end users. * Experience supporting system testing efforts including writing and executing test cases and documenting results. * Experience performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT). * Ability to simulate business processes to validate system changes and ensure data/process integrity. * Experience developing or supporting reporting solutions and working with reporting teams to deploy reports. **SCOPE OF SERVICES** * Analyze and document business requirements to support payroll\-related systems and applications. * Develop functional specifications and review with business owners and technical teams to support system design and development. * Author technical specifications for interface and conversion processes. * Develop supplemental reports and coordinate with report development teams to deploy reporting solutions. * Investigate and resolve application issues and defects in collaboration with business and technical teams. * Support integrated system testing activities, including test case creation, execution, and results documentation. * Coordinate and/or perform user acceptance testing activities to validate system functionality. * Execute simulations of business processes to ensure system changes do not introduce errors. **UNIVERSAL Technologies is an equal opportunity employer.**
