Solutions Architect (Remote)

**Title:** Solutions Architect **Location:** Newport News, VA **Position Type:** Contract\-to\-Hire **Role Overview** Rockwoods is seeking a skilled and experienced **Solutions Architect** to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross\-functional departments and our Project Management Office (PMO) to define project scopes, architect technical frameworks, and lead strategic initiatives to successful completion. If you are a detail\-oriented professional who excels at evaluating complex requirements and aligning technical strategies with business goals, we want to hear from you. **Primary Responsibilities** * **Project Architecture:** Define project scopes, deliverables, and work breakdown structures to develop formal project charters and robust implementation plans. * **Stakeholder Collaboration:** Lead comprehensive architecture reviews with internal stakeholders and external vendors to interpret complex technical plans, specifications, and system diagrams. * **Solution Validation:** Ensure all proposed technical solutions align seamlessly with business requirements, organizational constraints, and long\-term strategic objectives. * **Vendor \& RFP Management:** Manage the evaluation of vendor products and lead technical participation in RFP and competitive assessment processes. * **Compliance \& Risk Mitigation:** Research and document applicable regulatory standards while identifying and mitigating critical risks between business needs and technical feasibility. * **Testing \& Troubleshooting:** Develop comprehensive test plans and provide high\-level troubleshooting for technical issues throughout the project lifecycle. * **Documentation:** Maintain and dynamically adjust technical project documentation as project requirements and environments evolve. **Required Background** * **Experience:** 5\+ years of professional experience in systems architecture, technical project management, or technical analysis within commercial or financial institutions. * **Certifications:** CAPM or PMP certification is strongly preferred. * **Vendor Assessment:** Proven track record of conducting vendor assessments and actively contributing to RFP processes. * **Technical Acumen:** Demonstrated ability to interpret, understand, and map complex technical architecture diagrams and specifications. **Core Attributes** * **Service\-Focused:** Establishes strong credibility and delivers continuous value to colleagues and clients. * **Mission\-Driven:** Advocates for organizational principles, supports inclusivity, and takes true ownership of performance. * **Adaptable \& Collaborative:** Welcomes change, utilizes creative problem\-solving, and shares information openly to achieve collective results. * **Growth\-Oriented:** Continuously enhances individual skills to help fortify and elevate the organization. **Note:** No sponsorship; must be U.S. work authorized without current or future sponsorship.
