Baraga County Memorial Hospital ### **JOB TYPE:** Full\-Time ### **REPORTS TO:** Director of Ancillary Services ### **ABOUT US:** BCMH is a leading provider of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation services, dedicated to helping patients achieve optimal health and wellness. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cardiac \& Pulmonary Rehab Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team. ### **JOB SUMMARY:** We are seeking a qualified Exercise Physiologist, Kinesiologist, or Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive exercise and rehabilitation services to patients with cardiac and pulmonary disease. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in exercise testing, program design, and implementation, as well as athletic training and rehabilitation principles. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. ### **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Conduct exercise stress tests and assessments to evaluate patients’ cardiovascular fitness and functional capacity. * Design and implement individualized exercise programs to improve cardiovascular health, strength, and flexibility. * Monitor patients’ progress, adjusting exercise programs as needed. * Educate patients on exercise and lifestyle modifications to reduce cardiovascular risk. * Collaborate with physical therapy staff to ensure comprehensive rehabilitation. * Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care. ### **ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and progress. * Maintain accurate and timely records of patient assessments, progress, and outcomes. * Stay current with industry developments and best practices through continuing education. * Participate in program development and quality improvement initiatives. ### **EDUCATION:** * Appropriate degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, or related field. ### **CERTIFICATIONS:** * Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP\-C) or Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CCEP) * Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification ### **SKILLS:** * Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, kinesiology, and athletic training principles. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills. * Ability to work effectively in a fast\-paced, dynamic environment. * Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and exercise software. ### **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** * Experience with phase II, III and IV cardiac rehabilitation programs. * Familiarity with American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) guidelines. * Certification in CPR/AED and/or ACLS. ### **HOW TO APPLY:** If you are a motivated and compassionate healthcare professional looking to make a difference in the lives of patients with cardiovascular disease, please submit your application.
