\*\*\*This position requires an active TS/SCI Security Clearance\*\*\* Title Software Engineer Level 2 Location: Hanover, MD Description The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing\-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real\-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the so are components of system design to include hardware/software trade\-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off\-the\-shelf (COTS)/Government Off\-the\-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components **The Level 2 Software Engineer (SWE) shall possess the following capabilities:** · Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements · Design and code new software or modifies existing software to add new features · Debug existing software and corrects defects · Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments · Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories · Make recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards · Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards · Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components · Write or review software and system documentation · Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers; analyzing systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigating problem areas · Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project · Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance • · Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences. Of design · Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries · Oversees one or more software development teams and ensures the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project · Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team products · Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces · Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met · Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards **Qualifications:** · Fourteen (14\) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. · Four (4\) years of additional software engineering experience on project’s with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. **Additional contract or position specific required experience for this level (skills, technologies, expertise):** SIGINT Experience Description · Information Technology Familiarity with virtualization desired · Ten or more years of relevant JAVA programming experience to include at least two years of Java version 1\.7\+ and development of presentation tiers · Two or more years of experience using Spring and JavaScript · Five or more years of JSP and servlet programming experience · Five or more years of experience with JEE and enterprise web application design and development · Five or more years of experience designing and writing REST\-ful applications · Ability to create and deploy applications in an Apache Tomcat web server · One or more years of experience using JavaScript presentation libraries such as JQuery, Angular, and extJS · One or more years of MongoDB, Apache Camel desired · Other Experience writing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) · Experience with Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) · Six or more years of experience programming on Linux platforms · Six or more years of experience using a revision control application such as: git, Subversion (SYN), CVS, ClearCase Two or more years of experience generating and documenting design specifications of system\-level components in a UML\-based tool (e.g. Confluence/GI iffy) · Six or more years of experience with test\-driven development · Three or more years of Oracle, PL/SQL, and/or mySQL experience · Six or more years of Perl experience desired Experience creating deployment packages using RedHat Package Manager (RPM) is desired. · One or more years of experience writing softw re that utilizes SNMP desired · Four or more years of experience creating hierarchical deployments using Linux "yum" inclL1ding resolving dependencies and creating and managing yum repositories Job Type: Full\-time Pay: $150,000\.00 \- $218,000\.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Retirement plan * Vision insurance Compensation Package: * Bonus opportunities * Performance bonus * Yearly pay Application Question(s): * SCI with Poly Security clearance: * Top Secret (Required) Ability to Commute: * Hanover, MD (Required) Ability to Relocate: * Hanover, MD: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
